Huawei Celebrates Innovation in Istanbul

On December 8, 2025, Huawei Mobile Services held a significant ceremony in Istanbul known as the Türkiye Developer & Designer Awards. This event recognized the most creative app developers and watch designers in Turkey, acknowledging their outstanding contributions to Huawei's wearable ecosystem.

The award ceremony was an exciting showcase of talent and innovation, indicating Huawei's commitment to advancing technology in a meaningful way. Wan Fei, the regional manager of Huawei Consumer Business Group Turkey, commented on the importance of creativity coupled with technical excellence. Shan Xuefeng, the Vice President of Huawei Consumer Cloud Service Europe, also emphasized the initiative's aim to empower local talents and promote innovations throughout Europe. "By acknowledging Turkey's developers and designers, we not only celebrate creativity but also build a stronger ecosystem that provides personalized, cutting-edge experiences for our global users," Shan explained.

The ceremony also honored key partners including Akbank, Garanti BBVA, and Turkish Technology, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. Their exceptional contributions to Huawei's wearable device ecosystem were recognized, reflecting a shared vision of creating a smarter, more connected lifestyle.

Huawei's Leading Position

According to IDC, Huawei continues to dominate the global wearable device market, securing the top position for two consecutive quarters with a market share of 20.2% in Q2 2025.

During the event, the emphasis was placed on Huawei's open and interconnected ecosystem, which allows developers and designers to innovate and connect with a global audience, especially through the creative realm of watch face design. This is inspired by Turkey's renowned design heritage.

Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Huawei Consumer Group and Garanti BBVA, aimed at expanding collaboration in smart payment solutions. This partnership, built on previous successful cooperation in contactless payments through smartwatches, enhances digital convenience and transaction seamlessness for users across Turkey.

The award ceremony not only celebrated outstanding achievements but also reinforced Huawei's vision of mutually beneficial partnerships that benefit creators and consumers alike.
