J&T Express Achieves Unprecedented Growth with Record Parcel Volume in Peak Holiday Season
In a remarkable showcase of resilience and innovation, J&T Global Express Limited has unveiled record-breaking parcel volumes for the year-end peak season. Captivating both domestic and international markets, the company, also known as J&T Express, saw its global parcel volume soar as e-commerce events such as Double 11 and Black Friday drove substantial demand. On November 11, the logistics giant surpassed the 100 million parcels mark, reflecting a sensational 9% increase compared to the previous year.
Between November 1 and 12, J&T’s average daily parcel volume reached an impressive 94.59 million, denoting a 15% year-on-year growth. This surge is particularly notable in Southeast Asia where the region experienced an extraordinary leap in parcel volumes, up by 78%, while new markets reported an astonishing growth rate of 83%. Such remarkable statistics underscore J&T’s critical role in the global e-commerce ecosystem and its ability to adapt to rapidly changing market dynamics.
The Southeast Asian market exemplified this growth, with the Philippines reporting a staggering 55% increase in average daily parcel volume during the Double 11 sales event. Other Southeast Asian nations, including Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam, also reported significant enhancements in parcel delivery. Vietnam's growth was particularly striking, attaining a remarkable 211% increase in cumulative parcel volume from November 1 to 11.
In preparation for this finetuning growth and the anticipated peak demand, J&T undertook proactive expansions in Thailand, with 18 upgrades to its infrastructure. This included enhancements at ten logistics hubs and eight distribution centers, alongside the deployment of five automated sorting machines, essentially boosting overall site capacity by an enviable 80%. Moreover, to augment transportation logistics, the company mobilized over 300 temporary line-haul vehicles and recruited more than 9,000 personnel at last-mile delivery stations to ensure timely deliveries during the peak season.
In China, J&T Express capitalized on an innovative service strategy, fortifying its position as the logistics partner for top e-commerce platforms. By amplifying local services, the company supported small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with customized logistics solutions. As a result, the Zhangzhou Longhai district observed approximately a 15% increase in daily parcel volume, effectively handling increased order loads and maintaining next-day delivery targets. Notably, J&T optimized its fulfillment processes to cater to the urgent needs of live-streaming commerce. This not only enriched customer experience but also stabilized service timeliness for SMEs, even under high demand conditions.
Capacity assurances were further enhanced as J&T completed upgrades and renovations in 57 sorting centers, allowing enhanced operability in time for the busy retail season. The improved capabilities, including the deployment of unmanned delivery vehicles in urban and rural zones, address what has long been a challenge in last-mile logistics.
Globally, J&T Express continues to expand its reach, unveiling strong growth in emerging markets as exemplified by its operations in Brazil, where the company witnessed daily parcels exceeding one million units. In Egypt, collaborating with local platforms like noon contributed to a 41% increase in parcel volumes compared to previous years, demonstrating effective integration into the regional e-commerce landscape.
