Introducing the Exciting New "PLAY! SPORTS!" Program for Kids in Tokyo

Embracing Movement and Fun in the Heat: The Launch of "PLAY! SPORTS!"

As the sweltering heat grips the nation, A and B Holdings in Tokyo is excited to announce a new initiative that encourages children to engage in healthy physical activities. The uniquely themed kids' park, PLAY! PARK ERIC CARLE, inspired by the beloved works of Eric Carle, is set to launch its innovative workshop program, "PLAY! SPORTS!" This program is designed to provide children with enjoyable opportunities to develop critical physical skills and emotional well-being while staying active through play.

Scheduled to kick off on August 23, 2025, "PLAY! SPORTS!" aims to address the pressing social issue posed by increasing restrictions on outdoor activities during extreme summer conditions. The preschool years play a crucial role in shaping children's fundamental physical abilities, including balance, coordination, and self-esteem. Unfortunately, rising temperatures and changing living environments have led to missed opportunities for outdoor exercise, leaving many children unfamiliar with the joy of movement.

In response to this challenge, A and B Holdings has collaborated with nationally recognized gymnastics coaches to design engaging workshops that prioritize children's innate desire to explore and move. By immersing kids in playful activities, the program seeks to foster the joy of physical exertion and build a positive attitude toward exercise from a young age.

About the "PLAY! SPORTS!" Program

The workshops included in the "PLAY! SPORTS!" program focus on essential movements such as running, jumping, throwing, and kicking, conveyed through enjoyable activities. With a strong emphasis on creating a fun, interactive learning environment, children will cultivate a nurturing attitude towards physical activity through their success and experience.

Sample Activities:

1. Parent-Child Fitness Testing (for ages 3 and up)
Families can participate in fitness tests designed for schools, including stretches, sit-ups, and shuttle jumps, all while playing together. This activity not only fosters feelings of achievement but also encourages children's passion for exercise and movement.

2. Ball Skills (for ages 3 and up)
Children will learn fundamental movements like catching and kicking in a playful manner. Engaging in ball play enhances hand-eye coordination and balance, while also developing social and communication skills among peers.

Supporting the Growth of Young Bodies and Minds

The workshops also include programs specifically designed for children ages 0 to 2, alongside a range of sports activities such as soccer and ball toss games. Recognized as the "pre-golden age" of development, the early years are pivotal in establishing a child’s physical capabilities. As such, A and B Holdings emphasizes the importance of providing safe, age-appropriate opportunities for physical expression and exploration, ultimately contributing to the foundation of healthy, balanced individuals.
