DB HiTek Secures its Position in Europe by Joining PCIM 2025 Exhibition
DB HiTek at PCIM 2025: A Leap Towards European Expansion
DB HiTek, a leading manufacturer of 8-inch semiconductor wafers, is gearing up for one of Europe’s largest power semiconductor exhibitions, the PCIM 2025, scheduled from May 6 to May 8 in Nuremberg, Germany. The participation in this prestigious event signifies the company's ambition to penetrate deeper into the European market.
During the exhibition, DB HiTek will showcase its cutting-edge developments in its world-renowned BCDMOS processes, Specialty CIS, and next-generation power semiconductors, particularly Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN). These technologies are positioned as key growth drivers for the future, with a focus on enhancing production reliability and efficiency.
In February, DB HiTek achieved major milestones with its SiC wafers through fully in-house processing. The company aims to ramp up its product output and bolster reliability throughout 2025, eventually offering this production process to clients by the year’s end. Additionally, DB HiTek has developed a GaN wafer manufacturing process characterized by robust 650V HEMT performance, with reliability testing expected to be completed within the year.
The global market for SiC and GaN power semiconductors is anticipated to grow significantly from $3.6 billion in 2024 to $7.6 billion by 2027, marking a remarkable compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27.6%, according to Yole Développement. This growth presents a lucrative opportunity for DB HiTek to enhance its market presence in Europe.
In a statement regarding their participation in PCIM 2025, the company highlighted, "This exhibition will provide us with a platform to showcase our recognized strengths in supporting fabless design firms and collaborating with global customers in the European market."
Despite being recognized as a global leader in the production processes of 8-inch analog and power semiconductors, DB HiTek’s client base in Europe remains relatively modest compared to other regions. The company's strategy for the exhibition revolves around attracting new clients and solidifying existing partnerships in this growing market.
Currently, DB HiTek is in full-scale production of chips for approximately 400 companies, with total shipments exceeding 6 million 8-inch wafers aimed at both analog and power semiconductor applications. Furthermore, the company is advancing in Specialty CIS technologies, which include x-ray sensors, Global Shutter, and SPAD, and actively collaborates with various partners for commercial production. The semiconductors produced cater to the growing demands in consumer electronics, industrial sectors, and a significant increase in automotive chips in recent years.
As DB HiTek prepares for PCIM 2025, it looks ahead with a clear vision for sustainable growth and expansion, determined to leave a mark in the European semiconductor landscape.
