GAC Accelerates European Expansion: AION UT and AION V Shine at Milan Design Week
GAC Accelerates European Vision at Milan Design Week
On April 8, 2025, GAC held its third consecutive showcase at the illustrious Milan Design Week, a significant event celebrated for merging visionary art with global culture and integrating cutting-edge technology with fashion. The occasion served as a platform for GAC to unveil its European debut of the AION UT and the return of the AION V, alongside revealing the fourth concept model of the Car Culture Series, the CC4. Notably, the theme for GAC's Design Award 2025 was also announced: Beauty of Tomorrow II AI Works.
High-ranking officials from GAC, including Zhang Fan, Head of GAC Design, Thomas Schemera, Global COO of GAC International, and Stéphane Janin, Director of GAC Advanced Design Center Europe, engaged in enlightening discussions with media representatives and guests. They emphasized GAC's design philosophy, European market strategy, and future plans for the Milan Advanced Design Center.
Thomas Schemera highlighted the importance of merging design strength with manufacturing excellence: "Our goal is to deliver products distinguished by outstanding design, superior quality, and innovative technology, ultimately enhancing mobility experiences for European consumers."
Transforming Via Tortona 16 into an impressive exhibition arena, GAC successfully melded bold design with innovative technology. The display prominently featured the two global strategic models—AION UT and AION V—boasting sleek silhouettes, refined contours, and precision-engineered bodies.
The AION UT, crafted at GAC's Milan Advanced Design Center, merges Italian design aesthetics with local market preferences. It features the world’s first eyebrow-inspired headlamp design, a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, an 8.88-inch digital instrument display, intelligent L2 driving assistance, ultra-high-strength side walls, and a spine-like body structure designed for comfort and safety. This vehicle also meets and exceeds European safety standards and boasts a second-generation battery that enables rapid charging from 30% to 80% in merely 24 minutes.
Meanwhile, the AION V establishes its reputation with an exhilarating driving experience expected to captivate European drivers. Equipped with the same advanced battery technology as the AION UT and an exceptionally long 2.3-meter side airbag deployment, it presents a highly secure environment for passengers, effectively positioning itself as a “mobile fortress.”
During the Milan Design Week, GAC International also shared insights into its European market strategy driven by the vision: “In Europe, For Europe, Integrating into Europe, Serving Europe, and Contributing to Europe.” The upcoming market launches of AION UT and AION V, in addition to AION and Hyptec models introduced via a strategic partnership with Jameel Motors, are set to make waves as GAC targets Poland's automobile market for expansion in the third quarter of 2025.
Overall, GAC’s presence at Milan Design Week embodies its ambition to blend art with innovation while ensuring a strong foothold in the European automotive landscape. GAC's commitment to superior design and performance reflects its broader vision of shaping a sustainable future in mobility and continues to solidify its reputation within the industry.
