Japan's First Zero Monthly Fee B2B Home IoT Device 'NineDot' Launches

Introduction of NineDot

On December 10, Glamo Corporation, a subsidiary of Looop, will officially launch the 'NineDot,' a groundbreaking B2B home IoT device in Japan that promises a monthly fee of zero yen when bundled with Looop's electricity retail service, 'Looop denki,' under the 'Smart Time ONE' dynamic pricing plan. This launch will be celebrated at the '8th Smart House Expo' at Tokyo Big Sight, where Glamo will introduce both NineDot and the related service plan.

The Zero Yen Monthly Fee Campaign

For businesses that sign up for the service along with the NineDot device, this campaign offers the first zero monthly fee for B2B home IoT systems in Japan. Additionally, the installation costs for the NineDot, which includes a smartphone-compatible intercom and a companion unit, will be comparable to that of standard devices, effectively reducing any additional investment to near zero. This innovative offer not only alleviates common barriers to IoT adoption—such as underutilization, upfront costs, and ongoing fees—but it also boosts the integration of smart home technologies.

Features of the NineDot Device

NineDot is an integrated home IoT device equipped with an AI agent called 'Glamon.' This device combines essential smart home functionalities, including appliance control, intercom monitoring, energy management systems (HEMS), security, smart lock integration, and various sensors—all within one unit. Notably, NineDot supports face recognition for common area entry systems, enabling users to answer intercom calls via their smartphones, even while away from home. With over 50 features, the 'Glamon' AI agent operates seamlessly, allowing users to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without conscious device management.

Moreover, the device eliminates the complexities often associated with smart home setups, such as app downloads and configurations. For those who prefer app control, all functions can also be managed via a dedicated smartphone application, contributing to a hassle-free and enhanced living experience.

Future Developments

Scheduled for market release in July 2024, NineDot aims to enhance its capabilities in alignment with Looop's dynamic electricity pricing plans. Future aspirations include optimizing appliance operation using real-time electricity cost data (automated peak shifting) and offering tailored energy-saving suggestions based on users' routines. Such upgrades will be delivered over the internet, ensuring NineDot remains current and effective even after installation. It is highlighted as Japan's first suggestion-driven AI agent for residential IoT systems as of December 2025.

The Campaign Details

The campaign addressing common challenges—frequent underutilization of devices, initial investments leading to additional financial burdens, and ongoing operational costs—is instrumental in promoting IoT installation in multi-family dwellings. Interested parties can refer to the campaign flyer for specific details. Enrollment requires contracting Looop denki, along with a bundled installation of NineDot and the Glamo intercom companion unit.
