NASA Extends CASIS Management of ISS National Laboratory Through 2030

NASA has made a significant move in the world of space research by extending its Cooperative Agreement with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space® (CASIS®) for the management of the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory until 2030. This partnership, which has been in place since 2011, is pivotal in unlocking the potential of space-based environments to improve lives on Earth and foster a sustainable market in low Earth orbit.

A Unique Opportunity for Research

The ISS National Lab serves as a one-of-a-kind research facility, allowing scientists and researchers access to a microgravity environment that is unattainable on Earth. Notably, startups that have utilized the ISS National Lab's resources have raised nearly $2.5 billion post-project, which represents a significant return on NASA’s investment in CASIS management.
