This was followed by a unique 3.5km ride led by the CEO himself, gathering media, guests, and enthusiastic Brompton owners numbered at around 40 participants. This special ride offered a firsthand experience of Brompton's distinctive mobility. Later in the evening, partners and fans came together for a joyous anniversary party to celebrate the landmark 50 years.
CEO Talk Session
In a session attended by over 20 media representatives and guests, Butler-Adams addressed the theme of
“Brompton's 50-Year Journey and What Lies Ahead.” He emphasized,
“The folding bike we create is not just a mode of transportation but a choice for people to enjoy urban life more freely and become physically and mentally healthier. This is also a movement towards a sustainable future.” He elaborated on Brompton's commitment to not merely sell folding bicycles, but to provide solutions that enrich urban living, highlighting the positive impacts of cycling in major cities like London, Paris, and Shanghai. He passionately proclaimed Brompton's ongoing challenge to advocate for people-centered urban development in Japan.
Commitment to Longevity and Sustainability
The CEO further articulated Brompton's sustainability ethos, stating,
“For us, the greatest sustainability means being able to be used for a long time. We must ensure the brand endures to provide repair and service for many years to come.” He underscored the responsibility of continuing Brompton's tradition and quality as skilled craftsmen still meticulously handmake each bike in London.
