Among the new members are five General Members such as Wind River Systems, Parallel Wireless, and Tiami Networks. Sixteen Associate Members, including renowned institutions like the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Virginia Tech, and The University of Tokyo, have also joined the initiative. Arpit Joshipura, General Manager at the Linux Foundation, emphasizes this shift, stating, “The rapid growth of the OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation signals a clear shift from Open Source RAN exploration to real-world deployment.” This sentiment echoes the mission to unite industry professionals, researchers, and academia to hasten the adoption of advanced wireless technologies.

Fostering Collaboration for Future Technologies



The foundation's OCUDU Technical Project draws on the practical experiences garnered from the srsRAN 5G stack while facilitating open-source collaboration to ensure production-ready CU/DU implementations. Offering CI/CD pipelines, interoperability testing, and deployment-ready blueprints, OCUDU aims to reduce complexity and accelerate the time-to-market for next-generation wireless infrastructure.

Educational Initiatives and Developer Engagement



In a bid to further engage its community and disseminate knowledge, the OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation will launch a nine-part webinar series beginning June 4, 2026. These sessions aim to equip developers, contributors, and integrators with essential knowledge related to the OCUDU project, ensuring that participants are well-informed about ongoing initiatives and the project's roadmap. The first episode, titled “OCUDU Project Introduction, Roadmap, and Community”, is expected to gather significant interest among industry stakeholders.

The new members have articulated their excitement about joining the OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation. Wind River Systems, for example, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in shaping resilient mission-critical networks through open, cloud-native RAN architectures. Tiami Networks acknowledged the potential for synergies in integrating intelligence into future iterations of wireless networks through this cooperative framework.

Moreover, NextNav, an advocate for resilient Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technology, expressed the need for a trusted foundation that OCUDU provides as they work toward embedding essential PNT features into future wireless networks. Through unified efforts and shared expertise, these organizations are working together to implement practical solutions that enhance network reliability.
