Integrated Water Services Welcomes Cody Phipps as CEO
Integrated Water Services, Inc. (IWS), a leader in modular water and wastewater treatment systems, is excited to announce the appointment of Cody Phipps as Chief Executive Officer, effective from September 15, 2025. This strategic leadership change marks a significant milestone in IWS's mission to advance water solutions across North America.
Cody Phipps takes the helm following his distinguished career in various executive roles, bringing with him a wealth of experience in leading major organizations through transformative growth phases. His appointment follows the tenure of Alex Buehler, who the IWS Board of Directors commended for his invaluable contributions to the company during a critical growth period. Under Buehler’s leadership, IWS expanded its offerings and solidified its reputation in the water services market.
Prior to joining IWS, Cody held the position of President and CEO at Osmose Utilities, a global leader focused on revitalizing infrastructure for electric and telecommunications utilities. His leadership was pivotal in driving performance and growth at Osmose. Moreover, he served as President and CEO of Owens & Minor, a prominent healthcare services provider with revenues exceeding $10 billion. His vast experience also includes a significant role as President and CEO of Essendant, a Fortune 500 distributor of business products. Earlier in his career, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company in Chicago, where he co-founded the firm’s Service Operations Practice.
In announcing this leadership transition, John Rigas, CEO of Sciens Water—parent company of IWS—expressed confidence in Cody’s capacity to lead the company through its next growth phase. “Cody’s proven ability to drive growth while fostering high-performing teams makes him the perfect fit for this new chapter at IWS,” Rigas stated. The company is poised to accelerate its growth strategy, harnessing Phipps’s expertise in operational excellence to achieve ambitious goals.
As CEO, Phipps will concentrate immediately on ensuring a seamless transition and engaging with employees, customers, and essential stakeholders. This groundwork is essential for aligning the company's strengths with its growth strategy, thus enabling IWS to capitalize on market opportunities. “I am honored to join IWS and am passionate about contributing to the company’s already strong foundation,” expressed Phipps. He further added, “The potential for IWS is immense, and I am eager to work collaboratively to develop strategies that will foster exceptional value for our customers.”
