Loft Opens in Wakayama: A New Era for Local Shoppers
On July 3, 2026, Wakayama will celebrate the grand opening of the first-ever Loft store in the prefecture, nestled on the second floor of Aeon Mall Wakayama. This marks the 187th location for Loft nationally and the 30th in the Kinki region, completing the company's presence across all prefectures in that area.
Loft, a well-known specialty store for lifestyle goods, has been expanding its footprint across Japan, and the new Wakayama location signifies its commitment to providing unique and quality products to local shoppers. The Aeon Mall Wakayama has become the largest shopping center in the prefecture since its establishment in 2014, serving a diverse customer base that extends beyond Wakayama City to areas like Osaka’s Hannan City. With around 180 stores and a wide range of offerings, the mall has cemented its status as a shopping destination.
In the newly established Wakayama Loft, a spacious area of approximately 261 tsubo (about 863 square meters) will house an impressive selection of around 19,400 different products across four key categories: stationery (9,100 items), health goods (6,500 items), variety items (2,700 items), and everyday essentials (1,100 items). The layout has been designed for easy navigation, providing a delightful shopping experience where customers can discover the latest trends and timeless classics—all under the slogan, "Discover new items and exciting experiences!"
To celebrate this significant milestone, Loft has planned special promotions and exclusive products for the grand opening.
Loft App users will enjoy a special 5% discount on purchases over 1,000 yen during the first ten days of operation from July 3 to July 12. Additionally, the first 2,000 customers who spend 3,000 yen or more will receive a limited-edition “Loft Original Tote Bag,” featuring illustrations by the design unit
COCHAE. This tote bag, made from 100% recycled materials, is part of Loft's commitment to sustainability through the
Green Project Recycling Program.
COCHAE, established in 2003, aims to make origami more pop and engaging, and their unique designs will add a creative touch to the tote bags that combine practicality with artistic flair.
