Join OHYA at the 11th Sake Festival
From November 14 to 16, 2025, OHYA will proudly participate in the
11th Sake Festival, showcasing an array of our signature products including the innovative OHYA Choko series. This event is a celebration of Japanese culture and craftsmanship, and we invite you to experience our unique offerings.
About OHYA
OHYA is a lifestyle brand, born from
Ohya Seisakusho, a metal processing workshop in Kawasaki established over 60 years ago. Specializing in advanced techniques such as friction stir welding and spinning, we create user-friendly products that seamlessly integrate into everyday life. Our first standout product is the
OHYA Choko series.
The OHYA Choko Series
Our Choko series is distinguished by a perfect blend of beauty and functionality. The
Choko CLEAR series features an elegant design that not only pleases the eye but also enhances the drinking experience. By combining aluminum and copper, we achieve an optimal weight distribution, providing stability that is neither too light nor too heavy.
One of the significant advantages of using metal in our cups is durability. Unlike traditional glassware, OHYA Choko offers peace of mind with no risk of breakage. Thanks to the high thermal conductivity of aluminum, your cold drinks will stay refreshingly cool, making it a must-have for sake enthusiasts.
The cleverly designed mouth of the cup widens towards the top, allowing for a greater airflow that enhances the tasting experience. This unique shape allows drinkers to savor the intricate flavors of sake, accentuating its subtle sweetness and rich character.
Not Just for Sake
The
Choko CLEAR series Sun is known for its compatibility with Junmai sake, bringing out the drink's sweetness and essence. But it doesn’t stop there; these cups are also perfect for whiskey and liqueurs, revealing hidden flavors in every sip. The cups boast an exquisitely thin rim, perfected by skilled artisans, making it effortless to enjoy cold beverages as they glide smoothly to your lips.
Whether you're at a party or enjoying the great outdoors, the robust yet elegant design of the OHYA Choko ensures a delightful first sip every time.
Innovative Techniques Behind OHYA's Success
At the core of our craftsmanship are the techniques of friction stir welding and spinning:
- - Friction Stir Welding: This innovative method involves rapidly rubbing two metals together to generate friction heat, enabling them to bond at a molecular level. This creates a robust connection while allowing for the fusion of dissimilar metals.
- - Spinning: This traditional technique involves rotating metal sheets and applying a tool to shape them. This intricate process requires exceptional skill, emphasizing the unique qualities that only experienced artisans can achieve.
The Beauty of Lacquer
Our commitment to craftsmanship also extends into the realm of traditional Japanese lacquer art. The pairing of metal and lacquer might seem unusual, but this combination has roots in protecting armor and temple bells from corrosion. Our
OHYA Choko URUSHI series is designed with this rich heritage in mind, featuring lacquered finishes that add a touch of elegance and traditional beauty.
Experience OHYA at the Festival
