New Measurement and Wind Mapping Functionality
A highly requested feature, the distance measurement tool, has been added, allowing users to gauge distances right on the map. Furthermore, a wind condition map has been introduced as a premium feature, providing crucial data that can aid anglers in planning their fishing trips.
New Area Added: Enoshima Offshore Terrain Map
Responding to user demands, TsuriDoko has also released details of the underwater terrain beyond Enoshima, including sandy areas and rocky reefs that are vital for fishing enthusiasts navigating the waters.
Full Renewal Experience
This update is described as a ‘full renewal’ of the TsuriDoko app, bringing numerous new features that make it even more comprehensive compared to previous versions. Users are encouraged to visit the TsuriDoko site and experience these enhancements firsthand.
What is TsuriDoko?
TsuriDoko is a web app that allows users to view highly detailed underwater topographic maps (bathymetric maps) obtained through the Airborne Lidar Bathymetry system. Users can not only predict fish locations based on underwater terrain data but also log their catches, view other anglers' catches, and check information about fishing locations.
As of October 2025, the app features a comprehensive dataset of underwater terrain for certain areas, including:
- - Tokyo: Izu Oshima, Niijima, Kozushima, Shikinejima, Mikurajima, Hachijo-jima.
- - Kanagawa: Miura Peninsula's west coast, Enoshima, Eboshiiwa, Manazuru Peninsula.
- - Shizuoka: Izu Peninsula, including Hatojima and Mikomoto Island.
- - Wakayama: Kada and Tomogashima, Shirahama's Hiki River mouth.
- - Okinawa: Surrounding Kohama Island.
Bathymetric Data Characteristics
The underwater terrain maps are created based on point cloud data obtained from highly advanced green laser bathymetry systems. The mapping achieves a depth resolution of at least one point per square meter in water and ten points per square meter in dry land areas, ensuring an accuracy rate of less than ±15cm.
