Omiai Hachiman Shrine Charity Festival Raises Over 750,000 Yen for Local Welfare

Omiai Hachiman Shrine Charity Festival Achieves Remarkable Fundraising

The annual Omiai Hachiman Shrine Suginami Hanagasa Festival, held in collaboration with Summit, has become a cornerstone event for the local community. This year's festival, marking its 32nd edition, took place on December 13, 2025, and attracted an impressive 24,000 attendees. The festival featured a vibrant atmosphere with various booths, a Hanagasa dance parade, and engaging stage performances.

One of the festival's most significant achievements this year was generating a charity fund amounting to 759,360 yen, which was formally donated to the Suginami Ward Social Welfare Council on January 15, 2026. The funds raised are earmarked to assist in local welfare initiatives, particularly those focused on supporting children and enhancing disaster preparedness in the Suginami area. A heartfelt thank you was extended to all participants and supporters whose contributions made this possible.

During the festival, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy local delicacies such as _imo ni_ (stewed potatoes), _oden_ (Japanese hot pot), and various beverages, all provided through the charitable efforts. These offerings not only added to the festival's charm but also reinforced the spirit of community and camaraderie.

Commitment to Sustainability and Community Engagement

In alignment with the principles of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the festival embodies Summit's unique strategy called the GO GREEN Challenge Declaration. This initiative reflects a commitment to addressing social issues, including environmental conservation, coexistence with the local community, and the bequest of values to future generations.

Through the ongoing collaboration with local residents and organizations, Summit aims to create a lasting impact and enhance the well-being of the Suginami community. The successful fundraising effort exemplifies how local festivals can foster social responsibility and support welfare programs that provide tangible benefits.

Summit continues to affirm its dedication to strategies and actions that uphold community richness and sustainability. By integrating community service with cultural festivities, the Omiai Hachiman Shrine Suginami Hanagasa Festival not only celebrates tradition but also plays an essential role in addressing pressing social challenges.

As we look forward to next year’s event, we invite even more community members to join us in this noble cause, for every contribution, no matter how small, leads to a significant impact on our region's welfare and future.
