Autel Energy Celebrates New DC Fast Charging Hub in Novato, California
The Grand Opening of a New DC Fast Charging Hub in Novato, California
On January 24, 2026, the heart of Novato, California, was abuzz with excitement as EV Roadway unveiled their latest project—a state-of-the-art DC fast charging hub located at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. This grand opening ceremony not only marked a significant milestone for the company but also represented a commitment to the community and its growing demand for eco-friendly transportation options.
Celebrating Community and Partnership
Families, local business owners, and EV enthusiasts gathered to celebrate this community-focused event. Local leaders from the Novato Chamber of Commerce were present to witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony that not only signified the launch of a new facility but also highlighted the collective efforts that brought this project to fruition. Tim Salyers, the Founder and CEO of EV Roadway, expressed the company’s dedication to creating a premium charging experience that aligns with the values of the local community. “As a family-owned company rooted right here in Novato, it was important for us that this project be more than just an infrastructure deployment,” said Salyers.
The Vintage Oaks Shopping Center has long served as a key retail and dining destination within Marin County. By introducing high-quality EV charging stations, the hub is enhancing the amenities available to its visitors while promoting California’s transition towards zero-emission vehicles.
Cutting-Edge Charging Technology
At the heart of the charging hub are three Autel MaxiCharger™ DH480 units, designed to ensure that drivers don’t just get their vehicles charged but can do so conveniently while they shop or dine. Each unit offers an incredible maximum output of 480kW, allowing for ultra-fast and reliable charging of two vehicles at a time. The incorporation of advanced liquid-cooled technology ensures longevity and optimal performance, making the charging process as seamless as possible.
Gretchen Schubeck, the Sustainability Coordinator for the city, emphasized the importance of this charging station. “It’s especially meaningful to see this new fast-charging site come from a family-owned company based right here in Novato,” she remarked. The sentiment echoed by members of the community reflects the collaborative spirit that fostered this development—one that prioritized not just infrastructure but community bonding.
A Process of Collaboration
The planning of this project was not rushed; it took nearly two years of meticulous coordination between EV Roadway, property owners, and local stakeholders. According to Kathy DeOchoa, the Director of Property Management at CrossPoint Realty Services, the community-oriented approach played a crucial role in shaping the project.
