Amorepacific Showcases AI-Driven Innovations in Beauty Research at IFSCC 2026 Congress

Amorepacific, a leading player in the cosmetics industry, recently unveiled its innovative research at the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) Congress 2026. The congress, renowned as the largest international conference in cosmetics science, took place in Perth, Australia, from September 28 to October 1, focusing on the theme "Solving the Sustainable Beauty Equation."

Amorepacific presented nine pivotal studies, which highlighted advancements in skin science through AI and digital technologies. This research marks a significant shift in understanding consumer behavior and skin health. Notably, the studies encompassed crucial topics such as skin aging, sensory quantification, and comprehensive consumer research.

One standout presentation was led by researcher Eun-Jeong Choi, who showcased a study entitled Skin Aging in the Era of Global Boiling: Deep Learning-Guided Transcriptomic Signatures of Heat-Accelerated Aging. This fascinating research integrates transcriptomic analysis with cutting-edge deep learning methodologies. It draws upon more than two decades of investigation into the effects of heat on skin aging, enabling researchers to predict the progression of skin aging and assess the efficacy of various ingredients. With this robust framework, Amorepacific aims to foster advancements in skin longevity research, offering insights into how skin responds to varying environmental conditions. The importance of this research did not go unnoticed, earning a place among the Top 10 Podium Fundamental Research Award honorees at the congress.

In another notable presentation, Jeong Yu Lee discussed the concept of Electroluminescent Visualization of Skin Hydrodynamics for Digital Sensory Quantification. This innovative technology enables real-time visualization of moisture distribution and movement on the skin during product application while tracking minute electrical changes to quantify skin and formulation interaction. The strong correlation observed between laboratory results and consumer sensory evaluations highlights the potential for objectively assessing product efficacy based on measurable data. Lee's work was also recognized as one of the Top 10 Podium Applied Research Award honorees.

The Americas RI Center researcher, Jinseob Shin, contributed to this impressive roster with his presentation titled AI-Based Consumer Research on Barrier-Repair Moisturizers for Sensitive Skin. This study utilized AI-driven video interview analysis to explore consumer experiences and preferences relating to moisturizing products for sensitive skin in markets like Brazil and Mexico. Key consumer preferences identified included fast absorption, lightweight texture, and skin barrier benefits. This user-centric approach combines artificial intelligence analysis with real-world consumer insights to provide an advanced methodology for studying consumer behavior.

Brian Byung-Fhy Suh, CTO and head of the Amorepacific RI Center, expressed the company's dedication to melding AI and digital technologies with skin science. He emphasized that Amorepacific aims to pave the way for holistic longevity solutions that cater to healthy skin over time and under different environmental conditions. This aspiration reinforces their commitment to continuous innovation, which seeks to leverage predictive, quantitative, and data-driven approaches that transform the landscape of beauty research.

The presentations offered at the IFSCC Congress 2026 not only indicate a promising trajectory for Amorepacific but also underscore the potential of AI and digital technologies to revolutionize the cosmetics industry. With such commitments to pioneering research and development, the future of beauty is poised to be more conscious, informed, and consumer-centric than ever before.
