Unlocking Subsidies and Grants: Essential Seminar for SMEs in Tokyo
The Japan Small and Medium Business Owners Association is hosting an invaluable seminar on June 10, 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 at the Tokyo Nikkei Hall. The event is designed specifically for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) grappling with rising labor and material costs. During this seminar, attendees will gain insights on the crucial subsidies and grants available to them, as well as learn effective strategies to successfully apply for these funds and make the most of the available resources.
Why Attend?
In recent years, many businesses have faced increased financial pressure due to skyrocketing labor and material costs. To combat this, various support systems, including subsidies and grants, have been established by the government and local authorities to assist SMEs with hiring, wage increases, and capital investments. Unfortunately, a majority of these businesses struggle with navigating these options due to confusion about eligibility, the complexities of applications, and a lack of proper guidance. Shockingly, only 5.5% of eligible companies have successfully accessed these funds, revealing a significant information gap that many SMEs are experiencing.
This seminar aims to bridge that gap by offering a comprehensive overview of selected subsidies and grants tailored specifically to SMEs. Last year alone, the association conducted over 100 seminars nationwide, attracting more than 9,000 participants. This event is notably being held in a large venue in Tokyo, allowing even more businesses to join in and learn. Attendees will walk away with actionable insights that are directly applicable to their operations, especially considering current trends and regional developments in Tokyo.
