Lucid Air Grand Touring Breaks GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for Longest Electric Car Journey on Single Charge

A New Milestone for Electric Vehicles

The Lucid Air Grand Touring has recently achieved a remarkable feat, earning a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the longest single-charge journey by an electric vehicle, covering an astonishing 1,205 kilometers (approximately 749 miles). This record-setting journey took place between St. Moritz in Switzerland and Munich in Germany, navigating a variety of terrains including alpine roads, highways, and secondary roads.

The Journey Details

On July 8, 2025, Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID), well-known for producing some of the world's most advanced electric vehicles, officially announced the impressive milestone. Previously, the record stood at 1,045 kilometers, achieved just a few months prior in June 2025. The Lucid Air Grand Touring surpassed this achievement by a substantial 160 kilometers, solidifying its position as a leader in electric vehicle innovation.

Eric Bach, the Senior Vice President of Product and the Chief Engineer at Lucid, emphasized the significance of this accomplishment, stating, "This range record represents an important milestone and is a clear demonstration of the technological lead that defines Lucid. Our Lucid products combine world-class vehicle efficiency with the most advanced drive units, ultra-high voltage architecture, and battery management technologies available today, allowing a Lucid to travel farther with less energy than any other vehicle."

Unmatched Technological Features

At the heart of the Lucid Air Grand Touring is Lucid's proprietary electric propulsion technology. With an impressive WLTP range of 960 kilometers and energy consumption as efficient as 13.5 kWh per 100 kilometers, the Grand Touring variant truly defines the benchmark for electric vehicle range. Coupled with a stunning 831 horsepower, this sedan can reach a maximum speed of 270 kilometers per hour.

Moreover, the vehicle's ultra-rapid charging capabilities allow it to gain up to 400 kilometers of range in just 16 minutes. Designed with comfort in mind, the interior accommodates up to five passengers, featuring spacious and refined interiors constructed from high-quality materials.

A Continuing Legacy

This latest record marks the second successful collaboration between Lucid and Umit Sabanci, a London-based entrepreneur passionate about breaking GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS. In 2024, Sabanci had established a prior record for the most countries visited on a single charge in a production battery electric vehicle, successfully crossing nine countries, also in a Lucid Air Grand Touring.

Reflecting on his new record, Sabanci remarked, "When I completed the journey of nine countries in 2024, it was just the beginning. This new achievement takes that journey even further. I am proud to be part of a movement that demonstrates that electric mobility is not just the future; it's already redefining what's possible today."
