Stirring Up Good Trouble in New Orleans
In an exciting collaboration that blends culture, community, and a love for bourbon,
Good Trouble Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and its audacious founder, Dee M. Robinson, will host a unique fundraising event titled
"Good Troublemakers: Cocktails for a Cause". This special gathering is set to take place on
July 23rd, 2025, from
9:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the
Toulouse Theatre Front Bar in the vibrant heart of New Orleans during the globally-renowned
Tales of the Cocktail® festival.
The event is aimed at raising funds for the
Preservation Hall Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving the rich musical heritage of New Orleans while nurturing the next generation of artists. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with
soulful conversations, engaging connections, and a variety of
bourbon-centric cocktails, all in an atmosphere that celebrates both creativity and community.
One of the highlights of the evening will be an all-vinyl DJ set by the talented
Jean Daval, known as
DJ Preservation. This musical aficionado brings over 20 years of experience, having worked with iconic artists like
Yasiin Bey (Mos Def),
RZA, and
MF DOOM. DJ Preservation's unique soundscapes are sure to create an electrifying vibe, making him an ideal choice for this culturally rich gathering.
"
Preservation Hall and Good Trouble share a vision for New Orleans and music education. Good Trouble is leading the way in making a meaningful impact," expressed
Ben Jaffe, the board chairman of PHF. Tales of the Cocktail stands as the premier event within the cocktail industry, bridging the gap between bartenders, distillers, and cocktail enthusiasts since its inception in 2002. Each July, thousands gather in New Orleans for this landmark festival, making it the perfect backdrop for this initiative focused on
community,
culture, and
charity.
Dee M. Robinson's connection to the Preservation Hall Foundation runs deep. Her initial engagement with PHF emerged through
volunteer efforts with Habitat for Humanity in Musicians' Village, where she witnessed firsthand the foundation's commitment to aiding both veteran and emerging musicians as well as advancing youth programs. "
Preservation Hall means more than just preserving history; it’s a vital sanctuary for the essence of New Orleans music and a support system for the artists who keep the city’s cultural legacy alive," Robinson stated. Through this fundraiser, she aims to amplify the vital mission of Preservation Hall, ensuring that talented musicians receive the recognition and assistance they deserve.
Good Trouble isn't just an award-winning bourbon; it symbolizes a call to action aimed at igniting conversations, fostering connections, and inspiring change. Its rich, bold flavor reflects the essence of its mission to push against the status quo, ultimately uniting diverse communities in pursuit of progress. Notably, a portion of all proceeds from the event supports the
Be Good, Do Good Shine Your Light Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to promoting inclusivity and community engagement. Each drink served at this event serves as a silent invitation for participants to raise their glass—and their voices—for positive change.
