New Digital Signage Solution for Worker Safety
In a significant step towards enhancing worker safety in high-temperature environments, Digital Cruise Co., Ltd., a leading provider of cloud services for digital signage, has unveiled a collaborative initiative with ME Tech Co., Ltd. This innovative development targets workplaces, particularly construction sites, by incorporating real-time heat stress index data into digital signage solutions.
Launch Overview
On May 8, the two companies will launch a digital signage product that integrates with an IoT-connected heat stress index device installed at various work sites. With a proven track record in field implementations, the admint signage cloud environment will seamlessly incorporate data from these heat index monitors. The signage will display a five-tier warning system designed to alert workers about the risks associated with heat stress, ultimately promoting safety awareness to prevent heat-induced health issues.
Government Regulation Changes
As heat-related injuries and fatalities in workplaces trend upward, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has amended safety and health regulations effective June 1. These regulations mandate that operations conducted in environments with a wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT) of 28 degrees Celsius or a temperature of 31 degrees Celsius or higher implement measures to prevent heat stress. Failure to do so in work sites where employees will be at risk for prolonged periods—over one hour continuously or exceeding four hours in a day—could result in penalties for non-compliance.
Comprehensive Support for Various Industries
Digital Cruise's partnership with ME Tech aims to bolster the safety and well-being of workers across multiple sectors, including construction, manufacturing, cleaning, security, and transportation. These industries frequently require outdoor work in hot conditions, making measures to prevent heat stress necessary.
About admint Signage
admint SIGNAGE is a cloud-based digital signage service that delivers video and still content through the internet, eliminating the need for physical server infrastructures. This platform allows users to manage content production, scheduling, and even monitor system stability via a browser for large-scale display systems. The efficiency and accessibility of admint SIGNAGE streamline the process of delivering critical safety updates to workers in real-time.
IoT Integration for Heat Monitoring
The IoT solution includes heat stress index devices that monitor temperature, humidity, and radiant heat in real-time, uploading this vital information to the cloud. It generates warnings based on the calculated risk of heat stress and integrates these alerts with admint signage, ensuring immediate notifications for workers about potential dangers.
