Hellenic Music Ensemble to Embark on North American Tour in 2026 Celebrating Iconic Greek Composers

Hellenic Music Ensemble Embarks on the 2026 North American Tour

The Hellenic Music Ensemble, a distinguished 21-member Greek orchestra, has officially announced the dates and locations for its upcoming North American leg of the 2026 world tour. This landmark concert series will pay tribute to two of Greece's most celebrated composers, Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis.

The tour, featuring an impressive lineup of nine countries and twenty-two cities, showcases performances in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Sydney Opera House. Among the leading artists for this concert series are the celebrated Greek vocalists Natassa Bofiliou and Giannis Haroulis, alongside special guest Judy Kuhn, a Tony and Grammy Award nominee known for her roles in Broadway hits like Les Misérables and her work as the voice of Pocahontas in Disney's animated film.

The concert promises to be an evocative experience, presenting compositions that span from the iconic melodies of "Zorba the Greek" to the tender notes of "Never on Sunday." Audiences can expect a powerful performance that breathes life into the emotional landscapes created by Theodorakis and Hadjidakis.

"This is a celebration of Greece's music at its most powerful — where poetry, melody, and humanity meet," remarked Panos Liaropoulos, the ensemble's musical director. With the deeply emotive voices of Natassa Bofiliou and Giannis Haroulis, complemented by Kuhn’s exceptional talent, the audience can expect a uniquely immersive experience.

Natassa Bofiliou expressed her anticipation, stating, "Singing the music of Theodorakis and Hadjidakis on international stages is a privilege. Their songs carry the dreams, struggles, and beauty of Greece. Sharing them with the world and performing alongside artists like Giannis and Judy feels like a bridge of emotion connecting us all."

Giannis Haroulis also shared his thoughts: "These songs are part of who we are. They speak of love, freedom, and humanity. To perform them in America, with this incredible orchestra and the great Judy Kuhn, is an experience full of heart and meaning. It’s a reminder that music has no borders."

Acclaimed Broadway star Judy Kuhn added, "I've long admired the beauty and depth of Greek music. To join Natassa, Giannis, and the Hellenic Music Ensemble in honoring these legendary composers is both a joy and a profound artistic journey. Theodorakis and Hadjidakis wrote music that speaks directly to the soul — and I can't wait to share that spirit with North American audiences."

The Hellenic Music Ensemble, recognized as an official Cultural Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, will perform full orchestral arrangements celebrating the greatest works of Theodorakis and Hadjidakis. This includes appearances at renowned concert halls, which serve as significant cultural hubs in North America.
