Japan Tennis Rising Fund: Shaping the Future of Japanese Tennis
In an inspiring move to elevate the future of Japanese tennis, the Japan Private Trust Foundation has officially launched the
Japan Tennis Rising Fund. This initiative aims to nurture the next generation of tennis players and equip them with the necessary support to achieve greatness on the global stage, specifically targeting a win at prestigious Grand Slam events.
Tennis is a highly individual sport, where success often hinges not just on talent but also on the availability of resources and support. With the understanding that promising young athletes sometimes face barriers that hinder their dreams, this fund is dedicated to ensuring that no young talent has to abandon their aspirations due to a lack of resources. By offering tailored support, the Japan Tennis Rising Fund hopes to create an environment that fosters ambition and growth among young athletes.
Program Overview
Support for Junior Players
To address the geographical challenges between Japan and the international tennis domain, the fund will offer financial assistance for training abroad, specifically benefiting junior players aged between 12 and 18 years old. The support will cover costs related to
tennis study trips to Europe, including travel and accommodation expenses.
For the current fiscal year, a program has been planned that features a two-week exposure at the
Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain, scheduled for November 2025. This will provide students with an unparalleled opportunity to learn from world-class coaches and fellow international players, enhancing their skills and competitive edge.

Japan Tennis Rising Fund will open from June 16, 2025, until July 31, 2025. The expectation is to select about six promising candidates, with final selections being made by the end of September 2025. Full details, including eligibility criteria, can be found on the official website.
