A new collaboration between NERD MIND, a leather shoe brand led by creative director Gōta Iwata, and Tabio MEN is set to launch on October 10, 2025. This exciting partnership will feature a range of exclusive socks available at select locations and the official Tabio online store.
Tabio, headquartered in Osaka, operates specialty sock stores including those branded as '靴下屋' (Kutsushitaya) and 'Tabio MEN'. The collaboration encourages the belief that the right socks can significantly enhance the wearing experience of high-quality leather shoes. In close cooperation with NERD MIND, the designers strived to create socks that perfectly match the style and comfort requirements of their footwear.
Craftsmanship Behind the Collaboration
The partnership came to fruition over a year of meticulous design and testing, with an emphasis on various aspects such as length, fit, ribbing, durability, and comfort. Under Iwata’s guidance, the two teams worked through multiple prototypes, refining the product until it met the most stringent standards for leather shoe companions.
The resulting product is a Durable Cordura Rib Crew Sock designed to provide a seamless fit for wearers of NERD MIND shoes. The socks are crafted from Cordura yarn, renowned for its durability while maintaining a warm, cotton-like quality. Each pair features a simple yet striking design, providing a balance of functionality and style.
One notable feature of the collaboration socks is the linking construction at the toe, ensuring a smooth, irritation-free fit that heightens overall comfort.
