Coolita Launches Indonesia's First FAST Media Alliance with Leading Broadcasters
Coolita Launches Indonesia's First FAST Media Alliance
In a significant move for the Indonesian media landscape, Coolita has officially launched the country’s first-ever FAST Media Alliance in Jakarta. This innovative alliance centers on Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST), uniting leading broadcasters, technology companies, and media organizations. With the goal of aiding the digital transformation of television, this initiative is poised to reshape the viewing experience for millions.
The Indonesia FAST Media Alliance is a collaborative effort that emerged from a partnership between Coolita and the China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC). Among its founding members are prominent Indonesian broadcasters, including public and private outlets such as TVRI, Metro TV, GARUDA TV, BTV, Jawa Pos Multimedia, and JAKTV. Notably, Tencent Cloud is on board as a technological partner, contributing its expertise to enhance the alliance's capabilities.
At the heart of the FAST approach is the combination of traditional linear television and internet-based streaming, backed financially by advertisements. As global broadcasters increasingly adopt FAST to extend their reach and connect local content with viewers on Connected TV (CTV), this alliance seeks to assist Indonesian broadcasters in navigating this trend effectively.
The members of the Indonesia FAST Media Alliance will collaborate on developing FAST channels, enhancing digital content distribution, and exploring new technological solutions, while leveraging the strengths of over-the-air television. It also aims to foster greater collaboration between Indonesia's media industry and international partners, thereby enriching the local market's offerings.
Coolita, as a co-initiator, brings to the table its smart TV platform that has a strong presence in over 100 countries and regions, serving more than 40 million users globally, including over five million in Indonesia alone. The Coolita Channel, its FAST offering, features over 1,000 free channels spanning news, sports, and entertainment, providing a valuable distribution platform for broadcasters.
The announcement of the FAST Media Alliance coincided with the China-Indonesia Youth Cultural Exchange Series held in Jakarta. Industry representatives gathered to discuss the future of television, digital media, and the significance of FAST. The conversation underscored the necessity for closer collaboration among broadcasters, technology providers, and content partners as audiences increasingly shift towards CTV.
The Indonesia FAST Media Alliance is set to function as an open industry platform, with plans for expansion as additional broadcasters, content owners, and partners join the effort to enhance Indonesia’s FAST market.
By pooling resources and expertise, the alliance aims to spearhead a new chapter in the digital evolution of media in Indonesia, ultimately benefiting both content creators and viewers alike. As the media landscape continues to evolve, the collaboration fostered by this alliance will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of modern television and ensuring that local audiences have access to a wide range of quality content.
In summary, the launch of the FAST Media Alliance marks a pivotal step in Indonesia's journey towards a more connected and versatile media future, promising exciting changes for consumers and industry stakeholders alike.
