New York Robotics Developer Workshop
New York Robotics (NYR) is thrilled to announce an upcoming hands-on developer workshop set for November 3, 2026, at Civic Hall located in the heart of New York City. This event promises to be a pivotal gathering for robotics developers, engineers, and technology partners, all focused on the evolving field of Physical AI and robotics systems.
NYR has established itself as a hub for innovation within the robotics community, and this workshop aims to foster connections and collaboration. With Intel’s support, participants will gain invaluable hands-on experience working directly with state-of-the-art Intel-based robotics systems. Attendees will have the unique chance to interact with Intel engineers and technical experts who will guide them through the complexities of hardware, software, and the various developer resources essential for creating AI-enabled robotics applications.
As the robotics sector grows, developers are confronted with increasingly sophisticated challenges that require advanced solutions. These include AI inference, sensor processing, real-time control, and scalable edge computing. The workshop is designed to bridge the gap between development and real-world deployment, providing practical exposure to the tools and technologies necessary for successful implementation.
Workshops will cover critical areas such as Physical AI, AI inference, and software-defined robotics. Attendees will participate in hands-on sessions that present preconfigured robotics systems, allowing them to explore relevant technical use cases, engage directly with Intel engineers to ask questions, and provide insights into what tools and resources developers need to overcome their current challenges.
In addition to the developer-focused curriculum, the workshop will showcase various innovative robotics solutions from ecosystem partners. This gives attendees a chance to see how these groundbreaking technologies are being utilized in real applications and how they can transition from concept and development stages to successful deployment in various sectors.
Randy Howie, the newly appointed Acting Executive Director of New York Robotics, expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative opportunities this workshop will create. “We are excited to have Intel as part of our community. Their involvement not only enhances our workshop offerings but also creates a unique space for our members to connect and innovate. This reflects our commitment to building a robust robotics ecosystem,” said Howie.
Howie takes over leadership from Jacob Hennessy-Rubin, who has been instrumental in nurturing the organization over the past five years. Hennessy-Rubin is moving on to a new role within the fast-growing robotics startup community in New York but will continue to support NYR as a board member. Howie emphasized the organization’s renewed focus, stating, “We are building on the foundation that Jacob has created, leveraging our partnerships with technology leaders like Intel to empower over 180 startups across the tri-state area and beyond.”
The mission of New York Robotics remains unwavering: to accelerate the growth of robotics, autonomous systems, and Physical AI by uniting startups, corporations, universities, investors, and end-users into a thriving collaborative community. Their strategic partnerships and programming initiatives are designed to bolster the robotics ecosystem in New York City and the surrounding regions, fostering innovation and growth that will shape the future of robotics technology.
For developers and tech enthusiasts alike, this workshop presents not just an educational opportunity, but also a platform for networking and collaboration. With participation from top industry experts and access to cutting-edge technology, attendees will come away with the skills and insights necessary to innovate within the rapidly evolving robotics landscape.
