In a significant advancement for patient care, Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) has officially implemented Sectra One Cloud, a robust enterprise imaging solution. This strategic move aims to integratively streamline imaging processes across various specialties, fostering improved care for patients in the Northeast Georgia region.

Located in Gainesville, NGMC serves as the flagship facility of the Northeast Georgia Health System, providing a comprehensive range of medical services to over 1.5 million residents in 19 counties. By leveraging Sectra's cloud-based technology, the hospital seeks to enhance the coordination and efficiency of patient care, particularly in radiology, breast imaging, and cardiology, among other specialties.

Richard Wright, Executive Director of Imaging Services at NGMC, noted, "The transition to Sectra One Cloud has truly transformed our operational workflow. With a singular platform overseeing the complete imaging process—from study viewing to report finalization—we have minimized the time spent on application transitions, thereby improving our overall efficiency. This system also facilitates collaboration among clinicians from various departments, enabling them to consult on cases without disruption."

The implementation of Sectra's technology comes with responsibilities assumed by Sectra for the entire system operation, including maintenance and support. This all-encompassing management frees hospital staff to prioritize patient care over technical challenges. The rollout, which marks the beginning of a five-year partnership, aims to handle an estimated annual imaging volume of approximately 850,000 exams.
