Successful Conclusion of the 2025 Miami Summit by Nobel Sustainability Trust



On December 5, 2025, the Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST) held its Annual Summit at the luxurious St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami, successfully bringing together prominent leaders, policymakers, scientists, and entrepreneurs. The purpose was to fast-track solutions for a sustainable future, as well as to foster international collaboration.

The summit opened with a glamorous Gala Dinner, moderated by esteemed journalist Gloria Ordaz, featuring welcome speeches from NST leaders alongside representatives from the Miami Dade County Mayor's office, including Daniella Levine Cava. A special keynote was delivered by Ambassador Andrew Jackson Young, setting the tone for the event.

The main event was guided by global entrepreneur Jeff Hoffman, who is the President of the Global Entrepreneurship Network and a co-founder of Priceline/Booking.com. Opening remarks came from Peter Nobel, the President of NST, emphasizing the urgency of sustainability initiatives. The morning's highlight was the Sustainability Awards Ceremony presented by the NST Board. Ed Russo gave a keynote on behalf of the President of the United States, receiving official recognition from NST. Notable awardees included S.E. Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya and Dr. Yasmine Fouad, who articulated the unwavering commitment of global governments toward sustainability.

The Academic Awards segment spotlighted themes for the Sustainability Award 2025, presented by the Technical University of Munich. Recognitions were also made for Leadership in Implementation, Outstanding Research in Biodiversity, and Smart and Sustainable Urban Solutions, with notable recipients such as Prof. Manfred Curbach and the Global Observatory of Healthy and Sustainable Cities.

Additionally, NST proudly announced its academic partnership with the University of Cambridge and its Frontier Technology Laboratory, marking Cambridge as a strategic academic partner starting in 2026. This collaboration will focus on cutting-edge technologies, AI governance, sustainability innovation, and solutions for future global challenges. Simran Chana represented the University of Cambridge, detailing the importance of this alliance in advancing sustainability efforts.

During the midday program, AECOM and NST revealed their strategic partnership and awarded the first Smart City and Sustainable Certificate to Lusail City in Doha, highlighting the successful projections of sustainability in urban development.

The thematic discussions at the summit touched upon futuristic topics such as AI and sustainable smart city solutions, biodiversity as global infrastructure, and several keynotes from global leaders including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama on behalf of the President of Panama. Engaging sessions also covered Climate Financing and The Next Era of Artificial Intelligence, reinforcing NST's mission to connect policy, science, technology, and investment to create significant impacts globally.

Looking ahead, with future summits planned for Doha next year, the Miami 2025 Summit has further solidified NST's position as a global platform for leadership in sustainability, innovation, and international collaboration in combating the challenges of climate change.
