Sicilia DOC to Reintroduce Sicilian Wines in the U.S. with Masterclasses and Festivals

Sicilia DOC is Back in the U.S.!



As the winter and spring seasons of 2026 approach, the Consorzio di Tutela vini DOC Sicilia is set to reignite its presence in the United States, showcasing the incredible wines of Sicily. This initiative, aimed at American audiences, emphasizes the high quality and unique characteristics of Sicilia DOC wines. Not only will these engagements help connect consumers with authentic Sicilian wine experiences, but they will also raise awareness for trade networks involved in the wine industry.

The return kicks off at the Charleston Food + Wine Festival in South Carolina, scheduled from March 5 to March 8. This event will offer wine lovers the opportunity to taste wines produced across Sicily, while also participating in the festival's Shucked event on March 5, which celebrates oysters and highlights how well Sicilia DOC wines complement seafood.

Next, the spotlight shifts to the Boston Wine Expo happening from March 7 to March 8. Here, attendees will have the chance to take part in a masterclass titled "Sicily: A Winegrowing Continent," led by Jessica Sculley, Director of the Commonwealth Wine School. This masterclass is expected to enlighten attendees about the diverse grape varieties and terroirs that define Sicilian winemaking.

Following these consumer-centric events, Sicilia DOC will make a grand appearance at the Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival in California, occurring from April 10 to April 12. Here, the members of the consortium will engage directly with food and wine enthusiasts, enriching their knowledge and appreciation for Sicilian wines.

The latter half of this initiative transitions into trade education with a series of in-depth seminars. Expert Mark Guilladeau, a Master Sommelier from the three Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park, will lead these one-hour sessions. The seminars are crafted to deepen the knowledge of industry professionals regarding Sicilia DOC wines, showcasing their production methods, flavor profiles, and ideal food pairings.

The educational events are set to take place in key locations on the West Coast: Los Angeles on April 27, Denver on April 28, and Dallas on April 30. The culmination of this series will be a prestigious walk-around tasting event in New York City on May 4, allowing attendees to mingle with Sicilia DOC producers, who will showcase their exceptional wines.
