Midea Showcases Groundbreaking Sustainable Innovations at IFA 2025, Solidifying Carbon Neutral Vision

Midea Showcases Groundbreaking Sustainable Innovations at IFA 2025

Midea, a pioneering force in the HVAC industry, recently reaffirmed its commitment to a sustainable future with its unveiling of innovative technologies during the renowned IFA 2025 exhibition. Under the banner of its philosophy, "GREEN VISION, BLUE FUTURE," Midea showcased an impressive array of environmentally friendly solutions designed to contribute to a carbon-neutral world.

Leading the Charge with R290 Solutions

At the forefront of Midea's presentation were the R290 solutions, which have been championed by the company for over fifteen years. With the inception of the world’s first UN-supported R290 demonstration production line back in 2010, Midea has maintained its leadership in the global introduction of this eco-friendly refrigerant. Currently, the company operates twelve advanced R290 production lines with an impressive annual output capacity of 6.4 million units, demonstrating significant reductions in carbon emissions worldwide.

Midea has actively participated in the establishment of international refrigerant standards, helping to expedite the adoption of R290 across the entire industry. With the support of more than 10,000 R&D experts and 42 pilot laboratories, Midea offers a comprehensive R290 product portfolio. A standout innovation is the H-Pack hybrid heat pump designed by Midea's European R&D and design team. Utilizing R290 refrigerant, this compact system is engineered for high energy efficiency without the need for an outdoor unit, ensuring reliable heating even in extreme cold.

Raynor: Scandinavian Excellence in HVAC Technology

Another highlight from Midea was the Raynor air-to-air heat pump, specifically designed for low-temperature environments. This model, which boasts an energy efficiency class of A+++ and a leading SCOP of 5.1, demonstrates outstanding efficiency in the market. Testing has shown that it operates reliably at temperatures as low as -40°C, providing full heating capacity of 5.0 kW at -25°C with peak power reaching up to 8.0 kW.

Raynor is engineered with durability and efficiency in mind, making it suitable for the challenging conditions found in Scandinavian coastal areas. It incorporates advanced antifreeze and anti-corrosion technologies, including Prime Guard Hyper Grafins, a specially designed chassis with a heating base plate, and Flash Defrost ceramic bearings that ensure consistent performance even in harsh climates. Its combination of design innovation and sustainability has earned Raynor multiple international accolades, including the iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award.

During the IFA 2025 event, Vincent Chou, Vice President of Midea Residential Air Conditioning, and Ralph Kobsik, Managing Director of Midea Europe GmbH, were presented with the Excellent Heating Technology Innovation Gold Award by Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management, highlighting the product's leadership in next-generation heating solutions.

AI-Driven Comfort with Solstice

Midea also introduced the Solstice air conditioner, powered by AI technology, which features a 180° rotatable wind deflector that precisely balances airflow for unparalleled comfort. This unit facilitates rapid cooling and heating, tailored to daily needs. At the heart of Solstice is ECOMASTER, Midea's latest AI engine, trained on billions of data points to anticipate environmental changes and optimize energy consumption with remarkable accuracy. As a result, Solstice can maintain an internal comfort level within ±0.3°C while lowering energy use by over 30%.

Midea has announced plans to collaborate with Microsoft to offer natural language voice control via AI, powered by Microsoft Azure. This breakthrough technology will allow users speaking one of the 145 supported languages to interact with their air conditioner using everyday language.

Commitment to Sustainable Living

Midea’s presentation at IFA 2025 underscored the company’s dedication to fostering sustainable living through advanced technology and exceptional design. By combining these innovative approaches with market insight, Midea aims to lead the transition to a carbon-neutral reality, ensuring comfort and responsibility towards the environment are balanced in every solution they provide.
