Sol de Janeiro Foundation. This new initiative is dedicated to two critical areas: conserving biodiversity and empowering young women worldwide. The foundation operates under the brand's broader commitment to making a positive impact while offering unique beauty experiences.
A Mission of Impact
Established to make a tangible difference, the Sol de Janeiro Foundation has set an ambitious goal of committing $7 million to various projects by the end of FY26. This pledge includes an impressive $6 million already donated, with significant contributions coming in recent fiscal years - $4 million in FY25 and $2 million thus far in FY26. As the foundation's sole financial supporter, Sol de Janeiro exemplifies how a company's success can drive social and environmental change without relying on external funding.

The foundation operates with two core pillars: 1) the regeneration and conservation of biodiversity, and 2) the empowerment of women. These areas resonate with Sol de Janeiro's business philosophy of drawing inspiration from Brazil's rich environments while acknowledging the pressing challenges they face.
Biodiversity Initiatives
In the realm of biodiversity, the foundation focuses on efforts to protect Brazil's critical ecosystems, such as the Atlantic and Amazon Rainforests. It partners with notable organizations, including the
Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas (IPÊ) and
SOS Mata Atlântica, to enhance conservation efforts. IPÊ's innovative programs develop biodiversity corridors that reconnect fragmented habitats, while SOS Mata Atlântica is working to grow 1.7 million native seedlings over the next five years.
Additionally,
Filha do Sol is another grantee that trains local women leaders in biodiversity restoration and environmental resilience, spearheading a movement toward sustainable living practices.
Empowering Women
Through the
New Generation of Women initiative, the foundation funds impactful organizations that equip young women with the tools and confidence necessary to shape their futures. Collaborating with the
Girls Opportunity Alliance, a program under the Obama Foundation, this initiative aims to unlock educational opportunities for girls globally, having impacted over 120,000 girls across more than 40 countries.
Long-term Goals and Partnerships
The Sol de Janeiro Foundation is not just about immediate charity. It emphasizes nurturing long-term partnerships based on trust and collaborative spirit, driving comprehensive change that benefits both communities and the environment. So far, it has established 13 partnerships focused on biodiversity, gender equality, and community empowerment.
