Discover the World of Automobile Shipping
Are you fascinated by the workings of the sea and the shipping industry? Mark your calendars for
July 21, 2025, as Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) offers an exclusive
ship tour of their impressive automobile carrier,
TURQUOISE ACE, at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. This event is a collaborative initiative in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Marine Day, organized by the
Cabinet Office's Ocean Policy Division, the
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the
Nippon Foundation.
What to Expect on the Tour
Participants will have the unique opportunity to step inside a vessel that stretches approximately
200 meters long. This hands-on experience will provide access to areas not usually open to the public, such as the
bridge (the ship's control room) and the cargo-loading areas where cars are systematically placed into the vessel. The walkthrough will allow participants to ask the crew member any questions they may have about the ship's operations and the maritime profession.
Additionally, the event will feature
interactive elements such as a
simulator experience where individuals can try their hand at navigating a ship, along with informative talks by crew members detailing their roles aboard the ship. Attendees will also get to engage with
MOL Ambassadors, who are young representatives promoting the significance of ocean conservation and the shipping industry to their peers. Workshops and exhibitions designed to inspire interest in oceanic themes will also be available.
