GoNoodle and Kids Mental Health Foundation Launch New Animated SEL Videos and Educator Webinar

GoNoodle Partners with Kids Mental Health Foundation for New SEL Content

GoNoodle, in collaboration with The Kids Mental Health Foundation, has announced an exciting expansion of its renowned Mooderators channel. This new project features three animated videos aimed at enhancing social-emotional learning (SEL) in classrooms across the nation. The Mooderators series focuses on emotional wellness, an increasingly essential component of education, and this latest addition includes interactive tools specifically designed for younger students in grades K-5.

A Closer Look at The Mooderators

The series transforms beloved characters Skye and Clara into animated guides who facilitate engaging SEL exercises. These new episodes offer children accessible strategies to navigate their feelings, fostering a sense of calm and emotional understanding. By leveraging captivating animations, GoNoodle effectively captures the attention of lower elementary learners, making essential topics relatable and enjoyable.

To complement the animated videos, GoNoodle and The Kids Mental Health Foundation are also introducing the Feelings Workbook. Available in both K–2nd and 3rd–5th-grade versions, and in English and Spanish, this resource serves as a vital tool for students to explore their emotions. The workbook's interactive activities allow children to articulate feelings like happiness, sadness, frustration, and excitement, equipping them with the vocabulary they need to manage their emotional experiences.

Impact on Educators and Students

The Mooderators series has garnered significant traction, with over 17 million views and 34,000 downloads of related curriculum materials. This demonstrates its effectiveness as a trusted SEL resource utilized in classrooms nationwide. The expansion of the series further cements the shared mission of GoNoodle and the Kids Mental Health Foundation to provide educators with the tools and training necessary to cultivate emotionally intelligent and resilient learners.

KC Estenson, CEO of GoNoodle, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting educators: “These new Mooderators videos represent some of the best approaches developed by The Kids Mental Health Foundation to help kids regulate emotions and manage stress. We want to give educators reliable tools to create calm and connected classrooms.”

This initiative also responds to the insights revealed in GoNoodle's 2024 Teacher Survey, where a significant number of educators expressed the need for more digital SEL resources. Approximately 60% of surveyed teachers noted that the Mooderators content helps make challenging topics more relatable, while nearly 47% found it beneficial for initiating difficult conversations in their classrooms. Nonetheless, many educators still feel unprepared to assist students in navigating emotionally charged discussions. This gap underscores the importance of resources that effectively meet real classroom needs.

An Invitation to Educators

In light of this launch, GoNoodle and The Kids Mental Health Foundation are offering a free, live webinar on September 30th. This event aims to provide educators with practical strategies for integrating the new Mooderators videos into their lessons. It will feature Dr. Ariana Hoet, Executive Clinical Director at the Kids Mental Health Foundation, along with a panel of experienced educators who leverage the series in their teaching. Attendees can expect expert tips, downloadable SEL resources, and a chance to win exclusive classroom kits.

Educators interested in enhancing their SEL strategies are encouraged to register for this free event.
