BuySell Technologies Unifies Brand and Expands Stores in Japan

BuySell Technologies Restructures and Unifies Brand

In a bold strategic move, BuySell Technologies, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is set to implement a major restructuring of its group companies starting January 1, 2026. This will involve the consolidation of nine subsidiary companies under a unified brand, "BuySell." This initiative aims to create cohesive brand experiences and significantly increase the number of stores from 40 to approximately 150 across the country.

Objectives of the Corporate Restructuring

BuySell Technologies operates with the mission to "connect important things across time and people." Since its inception, the company has expanded its presence in the used goods acquisition and sales market. A key part of their strategy includes mergers and acquisitions (M&A), through which they have integrated five different recycling companies since 2020.

This restructuring will focus on streamlining and enhancing the management resources related to back-office functions. By consolidating the multiple brands previously used for their store acquisition business into a single one, "BuySell," the company expects to broaden brand recognition and customer connections, enhancing the visibility of their purchasing service.

The move is designed to robustly align the knowledge and synergy acquired by the group over the years, ensuring that customers nationwide receive a safe and reliable reuse experience.

Overview of the Restructuring Process

As of November 2025, the BuySell group comprises 15 companies. In the upcoming restructuring, the following nine firms will merge into BuySell Technologies:
  • - Four-Nine Co., Ltd.
  • - Nisso Co., Ltd.
  • - Musubi Co., Ltd.
  • - Rext Holdings, Inc.
  • - IZA Co., Ltd.
  • - Rext Shared Services Co., Ltd.
  • - Rext Customer Service Co., Ltd.
  • - Rext Logistics Co., Ltd.
  • - Rext Lab Co., Ltd.

(Note: Timeless Co., Ltd. will only integrate a part of its back-office functions; the company and its operations will continue to exist.)

New Service Logo and Branding Unification

In November 2025, a new service logo for the "BuySell" acquisition business will be introduced. The design will feature katakana text, making it more relatable and easily recognizable for a wider demographic. Branding updates will include changes to their website, store signage, and various marketing tools.

Beginning in January 2026, the store acquisition brands operated by the integrated companies will be consolidated under the "BuySell" name. Consequently, the number of locations operating under the BuySell brand will rise precipitously, from 40 to about 150.

Company Overview

BuySell Technologies aims to transcend the boundaries of time and connect people to their essential items through its comprehensive reuse business. The company focuses primarily on the acquisition of various items found in homes, such as kimonos, stamps, and branded goods, and linking them to those in need.

With a priority on utilizing technology, BuySell Technologies is committed to improving operational efficiency and fostering strategic growth through data utilization. The firm is actively pursuing M&A opportunities within the reuse sector, focusing on expanding its secondary distribution network domestically and internationally. Currently, the group conducts over 400,000 home evaluations annually and operates more than 400 stores, establishing a leading position in the reuse industry.
