What is Azabu Slope Curry?
Azabu is home to over 60 distinct slopes, each with its own name, history, and fascinating stories. The Azabu Slope Curry project captures these narratives through a delicious curry medium. Stemming from an 'idea meeting' held by local residents and eateries in the fall of 2023, this project creatively combines the themes of “slopes, stories, and spices.” Each restaurant develops its original curry, incorporating the unique background of the corresponding slope. It has emerged as an exciting, gourmet initiative that allows people to rediscover local attractions while exploring the area on foot.
The Three Rules of Azabu Slope Curry
To ensure each dish stands out, there are three criteria for creating these unique curries:
1. The menu item must relate to the nearby slope.
2. The rice should be served at an angle to reflect the slope.
3. An original marker representing each slope must be installed (provided by the Minato Ward government).
By adhering to these rules, each restaurant offers a special dish that can only be experienced in Azabu.
