PPHE Hotel Group Adopts Oracle OPERA Cloud to Enhance Operations

PPHE Hotel Group Incorporates Oracle OPERA Cloud for Operational Excellence

In a strategic move to streamline its operations and enhance guest services, PPHE Hotel Group has selected the Oracle OPERA Cloud hospitality platform as its global property management system. This implementation is set to standardize business processes across its 18 properties in the UK, the Netherlands, and Italy, totaling over 5,200 rooms.

Jawad Sabir, the senior vice president of technology and business solutions at PPHE Hotel Group, emphasized the importance of this transition, stating, "At PPHE, we strive for excellence, and OPERA Cloud is helping us raise the bar even higher." This initiative aims to empower hotel staff with increased mobile access to essential information, allowing for improved efficiencies in functions ranging from housekeeping to guest loyalty programs.

By migrating from the longstanding Oracle Hospitality OPERA 5 to OPERA Cloud PMS, the hotel group is eliminating the need for on-site hardware. This change is crucial as it significantly lowers IT overhead costs while ensuring seamless, secure innovations through regular updates of the application. The platform's mobile accessibility and comprehensive dashboards are designed to minimize manual tasks, empowering employees to focus on delivering exceptional, personalized experiences.

Furthermore, PPHE Hotel Group plans to integrate its current IT systems using open-source REST APIs, centralizing functions such as sales, reservations, and front desk operations onto a single platform. Through the use of the Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP), the hotel group will have unprecedented access to new features and capabilities, allowing rapid delivery of customized services through more than 1,000 pre-integrated business solutions.

Alex Alt, Oracle's executive vice president and general manager of commercial cloud applications, remarked, "PPHE is dedicated to delivering a differentiated and unique experience to its guests that can only be achieved with a modern, secure platform. With OPERA Cloud, PPHE will have the agility to continually innovate and provide staff at every level with the data and tools necessary to exceed expectations during every stay at every location."

PPHE Hotel Group boasts a valuation of £2.2 billion, according to a 2024 report by Savills and Zagreb nekretnine Ltd (ZANE). Its portfolio encompasses a blend of upscale, upper upscale, and lifestyle hotels, strategically located in major cities across Europe. Apart from its direct operations, PPHE also holds an exclusive license from the Radisson Hotel Group for the development and management of Park Plaza® branded hotels in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The hospitality firm not only operates under the Park Plaza® banner but also directly runs the art'otel® brand and affiliate brands such as Arena Hotels Apartments® and Arena Campsites®. This broader strategy underscores their commitment to expanding their presence in both urban and leisure hospitality markets.

With the implementation of Oracle OPERA Cloud, PPHE reaffirms its dedication to operational excellence and providing superior guest experiences across its diverse portfolio. This transition represents a significant stepping stone towards achieving higher efficiency, increased guest satisfaction, and ultimately, sustainable growth in the fiercely competitive hospitality landscape.
