Institute of Culinary Education Honors 2025 Graduates During 50th Anniversary Ceremony
The Institute of Culinary Education Celebrates Its 2025 Graduates
On May 12, 2025, the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) proudly commemorated the graduation of its latest class of culinary talent at the Los Angeles campus. This milestone event, held at the prestigious California Institute of Technology, marked not only the completion of a rigorous training program for these budding culinary professionals but also the 50th anniversary of ICE, solidifying its status as a cornerstone in culinary education.
The commencement ceremony was both inspiring and celebratory, featuring renowned chefs and industry leaders speaking directly to the graduating class about their future in the culinary field. Among the distinguished guests was Chef Curtis Stone, a Michelin-starred chef known for his extensive media appearances and successful restaurant ventures, who delivered the keynote address. Stone's journey from culinary schooling to becoming a household name serves as a motivating example for the new graduates.
In addition to Stone, the event highlighted the achievements of Chef Steve Samson, an esteemed alumnus of ICE and the executive chef/owner of popular establishments such as Rossoblu and Superfine Pizza. Recognized as one of the school's 50 Distinguished Alumni, Samson shared his insights and experiences with the graduates, emphasizing the importance of passion and perseverance in achieving culinary excellence.
ICE's President, Lachlan Sands, expressed immense pride in the graduates during his speech. He acknowledged the hard work and commitment shown by students throughout their education, stating, "As they move into the future, we are confident they will make a lasting impact on the culinary world with their passion, creativity, and leadership."
The ceremony also included presentations for students graduating from either an associate degree or diploma program, showcasing the diversity and depth of culinary training offered at ICE. Rick Smilow, CEO of ICE, remarked on the significant growth since the LA campus opened in 2018, mentioning, "We are proud of the growing graduation classes... Since our founding 50 years ago, ICE has trained thousands of culinary professionals. This graduating class joins a legacy of talented alumni who continue to shape the future of food."
Looking ahead, students from ICE's New York campus are scheduled to graduate on June 24, 2025, further extending the institution's legacy of cultivating skilled culinary experts.
