The Richmond Hotel Utsunomiya Station Annex, operated by RNT Hotels Co., Ltd., will be reopening its guest rooms and shared spaces on August 12, 2025. This renovation introduces a fresh concept centered on 'Fullness,' which aims to create a space that captures the rich natural beauty and culture of Utsunomiya. Catering to a variety of needs, the hotel is equipped with guest rooms and public areas that allow guests to enjoy their stay in their own unique style, whether for business, long-term stays, or group visits.

New Residential Experience for Long-Stay Guests

One standout feature of this renovation is the introduction of the 'Residence Twin Room,' which is the first of its kind for Richmond Hotels. There are a total of seven of these rooms available, each featuring a kitchen space equipped with a one-burner IH stove, microwave oven, and a two-door refrigerator, complete with local dining ware from the area, including beautiful Masuko pottery. This kitchen setup enables guests to prepare their own meals, promoting a new way to relax comfortably during extended stays. To enhance convenience, each room is equipped with a washer-dryer unit and detergent to support long-term guests.

The bathroom layout is designed to be functional, featuring separate areas for the bath, toilet, and washbasin for added privacy. The mirror above the washbasin includes an adjustable brightness feature, allowing guests to tailor the lighting to their preference. Additionally, the guest rooms’ electrical capacity has been enhanced with an increased number of outlets, ensuring that all needs are met with comfort.

The Design Concept: 'Fullness'

The overall design theme reflects a vibrant palette inspired by the natural landscape and culture of Utsunomiya, utilizing shades of green, pink, and yellow. Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted by a stunning feature wall made from the original stones of the previous structure, adorned with graphic art that incorporates the concept colors, showcasing a commitment to sustainability and the SDGs.

Flexible Shared Space for Varied Needs

On the second floor, guests will find a welcoming lobby area designed with five counter seats equipped with outlets and a spacious sofa section. This flexible environment can be utilized for quick business tasks or as a comfortable spot for workations and interactions between long-stay guests. The lobby also features coffee, a water station, and a frozen vending machine by Royal Host, enhancing the comfort and freedom of guests’ stays.

Lounge Services Available

The first-floor dining area will host a lounge service from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering soft drinks in a calming atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Certain seating areas are equipped with outlets, and free Wi-Fi is available for guests. This lounge service is accessible to guests of the Richmond Hotel Utsunomiya Station Annex as well as the main Richmond Hotel Utsunomiya, and also available for non-staying guests at a reasonable fee.
