Summer Fun: Family Cake-Making Workshop at Tokyo Dome Hotel
This summer, Tokyo Dome Hotel is thrilled to host a family-friendly cake-making workshop titled "Parent-Child Challenge: Cake Making Class" on August 12 and 13, 2026. Designed for elementary school children and their families, this unique event promises an exciting culinary experience led by Chef de Pâtisserie Kenji Nagashima, the mastermind behind the hotel’s exquisite desserts.
Workshop Details
The workshop will run from 14:00 to 16:00 each day, with registration beginning at 13:30. Each session accommodates only 13 families, creating an intimate setting where both parents and children can participate together.
During this two-hour experience, children will don chef coats and hats, immersing themselves in the world of pâtisserie as they learn to create a classic fruit shortcake from scratch. Participants will engage in both sponge cake preparation and decoration under the expert guidance of Chef Nagashima.
Upcycling for a Sustainable Future
One of the key highlights of this workshop is the focus on sustainability. Attendees will learn how to recycle leftover sponge cake into delightful glass desserts, promoting awareness of food waste while enjoying tea time. This innovative approach allows children to appreciate the importance of minimizing waste while savoring their creations. The glass cakes made from repurposed sponge will be served with drinks, enhancing the afternoon tea experience.
At the end of the workshop, each child will receive a ‘Kids Chef Certification’ to commemorate their culinary adventure, making for a wonderful keepsake.
An Optimal Family Activity
This event not only provides an opportunity for children to explore the joys of baking but also serves as a fantastic summer getaway for families. Parents can enjoy capturing their little one's focused expressions while working alongside them to create memorable culinary masterpieces. It’s an ideal experience for summer projects and creating lasting memories together.
