Envision Launches the World's First Commercial Shipment of Green Ammonia to South Korea

Envision Makes History with First Green Ammonia Shipment

On February 27, 2026, Envision, a leading green technology firm, set a remarkable milestone by dispatching the world's first commercial shipment of green ammonia from Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, to LOTTE Fine Chemical in South Korea. This historic cargo marks the initiation of a fully integrated value chain for green ammonia, featuring the entire process from renewable hydrogen synthesis to international maritime logistics.

The shipment originates from Envision’s state-of-the-art facility in Chifeng, noted as the largest production site for green hydrogen and ammonia globally. The plant operates on a meticulously designed 100% renewable energy system, which utilizes advanced Physical AI technology to efficiently harness wind and solar energy, ensuring a consistent supply for hydrogen and ammonia synthesis.

Yimin Lou, Envision's Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer, emphasized the significance of this event, stating, "This ship carries more than just ammonia; it embodies our commitment to a sustainable future. The successful launch of this inaugural vessel demonstrates that the green ammonia value chain is no longer a mere project but a reality. By leveraging Physical AI to tap into the vast renewable resources of the Gobi Desert, we can now provide carbon-free fuel globally, starting with our partners in South Korea."

Seung Won Chung, CEO of LOTTE Fine Chemical, echoed Lou's sentiments, declaring, "The world's first commercial introduction of green ammonia is capturing global attention, transcending corporate and national boundaries. This development is historically significant as a catalyst for establishing a green hydrogen and ammonia value chain, seen as a leading solution for the transition to carbon-free energy in response to the climate crisis."

Currently, Envision produces 320,000 tons of green ammonia annually, with exports commencing in the fourth quarter of 2025. By 2028, the industrial park is expected to generate 1.5 million tons of green ammonia per year, aiming to serve as a model replicable by clean industrial hubs worldwide.

Envision's green ammonia has received several prestigious certifications, adhering to strict industrial standards such as ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, and RFNBO. Additionally, Envision employs patented AI technology in its wind energy conversion system, optimizing efficiency and reliability throughout the entire green molecule production process.

At the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, this groundbreaking project was presented as a key case study in the WEF white paper titled "From Blueprint to Reality: Delivering a Stronger Business Case for Energy Infrastructure," illustrating its global significance as a reference for the carbon-free industrial transition.

With this vital step, Envision aims to not only provide sustainable fuel options but also to lead the charge in creating a cleaner and more sustainable future for the energy sector. The collaboration between Envision and LOTTE offers a blueprint for how industries can pivot toward eco-friendly practices while addressing global energy demands.

This successful venture showcases the potential for renewable energy to reshape the industrial landscape and is a pivotal moment in the fight against climate change, demonstrating the transformative capabilities of clean technologies. As companies like Envision pave the way for sustainable practices, the hope for a low-carbon future becomes not just an ambition but a tangible reality.
