Foton Motor to Showcase Exceptional Product Line at IAA Transportation 2026, Signifying Global Expansion of Chinese Commercial Vehicles

Foton Motor at IAA Transportation 2026

Next week, on September 14, the IAA Transportation 2026, the world’s largest trade fair dedicated to commercial vehicles, will open its doors in Hannover, Germany. This event marks a significant opportunity for Foton Motor, the leading player in the Chinese commercial vehicle sector, which has held the top position for 21 consecutive years.

Foton will showcase its most comprehensive range of vehicles to date, which includes innovative products aimed at global markets. More than 460 Chinese companies will be participating, with Foton introducing seven new energy vehicles and six key components developed in-house. Among the standout vehicles on display will be the FOTON GALAXUS R9 PHEV, which has successfully completed testing in Spain, and the international debut of the CAVAN C1.

Additionally, Foton will unveil several models for the first time outside of China. These include the hydrogen-electric heavy-duty truck CAVAN BEACON, the medium-sized eGALAXUS D3 (a sweeper truck), the light-duty DAYSTAR, the TUNLAND V9 PHEV pickup truck, and the eAURORA bus. The advanced components featured will include power batteries, electric drive axles, and high-capacity charging stations, essential for supporting heavy vehicles.

Furthermore, Foton will mark the delivery of its 13 millionth vehicle worldwide while launching the BEACON globally and announcing its “European Strategy.”

A Strong Commitment to Global Expansion

Foton Motor has been at the forefront of vehicle exportation from China for the last 15 years, with its products available in over 140 countries and regions. The company operates 32 factories globally, with a reported export total of 165,000 units in 2025. Remarkably, between January and August 2026, Foton exported 149,000 units, reflecting a substantial 44.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

Foton’s sustained success is attributed not just to its diverse product lineup but also to its ability to adapt and respond to international market demands. This year, the company is also focusing on expanding its new energy vehicles, which encompass fully electric vans and trucks that have received EU WVTA certifications.

Foton’s Cavan models have seen rapid growth in 15 European countries and in emerging markets such as Australia and New Zealand. The company has established local manufacturing plants across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, alongside 18 regional and national spare parts centers. This development forms a complete closed-loop system, from sales to maintenance to charging services.

As part of its “3040” international strategy, Foton aims to achieve annual overseas sales of 400,000 units by 2030, with new energy vehicles accounting for 30% of that total. Such aspirations indicate a systematic global expansion, pushing the brand further into a new era of international commercial vehicle production.

In conclusion, Foton Motor’s presence at the IAA Transportation 2026 is not just a showcase of innovative products but also a clear sign of its ambition to redefine the global landscape for commercial vehicles. As Foton continues to push boundaries, it represents a growing force in the market that is set to transform the way commercial transportation operates worldwide.
