Dahua Technology Unveils AI-Driven Urban Solutions at SCEWC 2026

Exploring Dahua's AI-Powered Urban Solutions at SCEWC 2026

At the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026 held in Barcelona from November 3 to 5, Dahua Technology, a leading global provider of video-centric AIoT solutions and services, presented pioneering innovations for smart urban environments under the theme "Together for an AI-powered urban future."

Dahua's focus on enhancing urban safety through connected cameras and IoT devices was a significant highlight. These sophisticated technologies employ AI-driven analytics to identify risks and coordinate emergency responses effectively. One notable application integrates intelligent recognition with text and image search capabilities, as well as route-tracking, significantly aiding in search operations for missing persons.

In the realm of intelligent traffic management, Dahua showcased advanced solutions designed for traffic monitoring, signal optimization, law enforcement, and incident detection. For instance, in Campeche, Mexico, the company optimized 34 intersections and implemented seven green wave initiatives. These efforts led to a remarkable increase in traffic flow by twenty percent while simultaneously reducing waiting times by fifteen percent.

Dahua’s smart mobility solutions promise safety and efficiency in public transportation through comprehensive vehicle monitoring, safety alerts, and integrated information systems. The driver's monitoring application identifies risky behavior, while real-time video surveillance, GPS tracking, and passenger counting bolster safety oversight, fleet management, and fare collection.

Moreover, Dahua's urban governance technologies harness AI analytics and multimodal processing to detect illegal street vending, waste disposal, missing manhole covers, road flooding, blocked fire lanes, and smoke or fire incidents. Natural language search functionalities, coupled with automated alerts, aid personnel in identifying issues and orchestrating prompt responses.

During the expo, Dahua also introduced solutions targeting environmental protection and resource management. A set of high-mounted thermal cameras provides 360° coverage, identifying potential fire hotspots from distances of up to ten kilometers. These cameras collaborate with ground monitoring and drone technology to enhance fire detection and emergency assistance. For water monitoring, a radar system integrated with a PTZ camera delivers real-time level tracking, sending alerts when measurements exceed preset thresholds.

John Li, General Manager of the Global Government Business Department at Dahua Technology, participated in a high-level roundtable discussion titled "Agentic AI Systems That Act." He emphasized the transformative potential of AI integrated into cameras and sensors for proactive urban management. This integration supports operations that range from AI-enabled searches to agents that flag urban issues and monitor their resolutions. Li also highlighted the critical importance of privacy, transparency, and accountability to ensure AI generates societal benefits.

Additionally, in a focused dialogue named "Building Resilient, Inclusive Sustainable Smart Cities with AIoT," Max Huang, Director of Global Government Projects at Dahua Technology, elaborated on how edge intelligence and structured data underpin the deployment of comprehensive AI models within contexts of smart city applications. He remarked, "IoT sensors are, after all, the 'eyes and hands' of AI. Future AI will not merely process information in the digital realm; it will engage deeper within the physical world, aiding us in urban management for safer, more efficient, and livable cities."

Dahua's commitment to advancing smart city solutions and supporting the ongoing digital transformation of urban areas remains steadfast. The company will continue to collaborate with clients and partners to refine these innovations, underscoring its role at the forefront of the AIoT landscape.
