Discover Yemen: A Cultural Exchange Event
On March 28, a unique opportunity awaits you as local NGO staff from Yemen arrive in Japan for the first time! The event is hosted by the Japan International Volunteer Center (JVC) in collaboration with its Yemeni partner, Nahda Makers Organization (NMO).

This event will provide attendees with valuable insights into Yemeni culture and the everyday lives of its people. Participants will have the chance to engage directly with NMO staff, asking questions and learning about the humanitarian efforts being made in Yemen.
What to Expect

Special Project During the Event
A unique highlight of the event is that attendees will also be able to create artwork on fabric, which will be delivered to a local children’s community space in Yemen afterward. This initiative aims to foster a sense of connection and support for Yemeni children.

- - Amil: The Public Relations and Local Partnership Officer at NMO is involved in establishing strategic partnerships with government, private sector, and civil society. He is passionate about sharing Yemen's rich history and culture and is excited about his visit to Japan.
- - Amr: A civil engineer who transitioned into humanitarian work, Amr has worked on significant infrastructure projects and is currently involved in shelter, water, and sanitation programs. He has long dreamed of visiting Japan and is eager to express his gratitude for the support received.
- - Rafat: Serving as the Operations Manager at NMO, Rafat oversees procurement and logistics. This visit marks his first time in Japan, and he looks forward to experiencing its culture of discipline, respect, and harmony.
This event represents a rare chance to directly hear the voices of people from Yemen, who are often only known in the context of conflict and humanitarian crises. Through this cultural exchange, we aim to highlight the beauty of Yemen's culture and the resilience of its people.
