Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the recruitment landscape, changing everything from how résumés are generated to how candidates are screened. In response to this shift, the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches (PARWCC) has launched the Interview Institute, a pioneering initiative designed to enhance interview coaching through standardized practices and shared knowledge. By recognizing that interview readiness is a vital skill for job seekers, this program aims to elevate the standards of career coaching across industries. As Lili Foggle, the Institute's Director, points out, "We are witnessing an AI doom loop in recruiting, where job seekers use AI for mass applications and employers rely on AI to filter candidates. This makes the interview the only authentic measure of a candidate's capabilities. Well-trained coaches are hence more essential than ever."

The Shift to Human-Centric Interviewing



Many employers are growing wary of application materials generated by AI, leading to a rising trend where interviews—frequently asynchronous or AI-scored—become the most trustworthy metric for assessing a candidate's credibility and presence. Margaret Phares, Executive Director of PARWCC, emphasizes the importance of human guidance in this process: "While AI can assist in many ways, it cannot replace the value of human interaction. Candidates need expertise to convey confidence and authenticity—an essential aspect of effective interviewing that leads to securing jobs."

Raising Standards with the Interview Institute



To address the challenges posed by automated recruitment processes, the Interview Institute will offer structured training and certifications to bolster the quality of interview preparation. Some of the initial offerings include a "Preparing Clients for AI Asynchronous Interviews Master Series" scheduled from October 7 to 14, and a relaunch of the "Certified Interview Coach (CIC) Live Cohort" starting January 8, 2026. Furthermore, the Institute aims to host sessions focusing on executive presence and negotiation strategies to better equip career coaches for the evolving demands of the job market.

For the first time, interview coaches will also benefit from a monthly peer forum named "Interview Insights," providing a platform to share strategies and adapt to new hiring practices in real-time. This innovative approach aims to create a community of professionals ready to meet the dynamic needs of job seekers navigating today's competitive landscape.
