Commemorating a Landmark in Senior Care
On March 15, 2025, Seen Health opened its first flagship Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) center in Alhambra, within the San Gabriel Valley. This momentous occasion marks a significant step forward in transforming the retirement living experience through innovative healthcare solutions tailored to the specific needs of seniors.
Seen Health operates under the philosophy of "community-centric care with a heart," aiming to uplift the elderly by integrating cultural elements while providing a multilingual service environment that accommodates English, Cantonese, and Mandarin speakers. Unlike traditional nursing facilities, Seen Health focuses on superior service quality and operational capabilities, allowing seniors to enjoy their twilight years in the comfort of familiar surroundings.
The grand opening ceremony was celebrated with a blend of traditional lion dances, children’s performances, and a ribbon-cutting event, encouraging attendees to explore the modern facility and witness firsthand how Seen Health seeks to redefine the quality and warmth of elder care services.
As California's elderly population faces rapid growth, the demand for innovative, culturally sensitive care services becomes increasingly urgent. In the San Gabriel Valley region alone, residents aged 65 and above make up more than 17% of the population, with a total of roughly 306,000 seniors, of whom 29% are of Asian descent. Unfortunately, for many older adults, especially those living in areas with limited resources, navigating the healthcare system can often feel daunting and neglected regarding their specific needs and cultural backgrounds. The establishment of the Seen Health PACE center effectively addresses this critical gap.
"Our vision in founding Seen Health was to redefine dignified aging," stated co-founder and CEO Su Xing during the opening ceremony. "We hope every senior can feel a sense of belonging, care, and support here." This center is much more than a healthcare facility; it is envisioned as a home where comfort and a sense of belonging are paramount. The facility features open communal spaces, natural lighting, and culturally infused designs to elevate the dignified experience of elderly residents and encourage social interaction.
Unlike conventional PACE programs that tend to follow a uniform approach, Seen Health melds specialized clinical services with highly personalized social and cultural support, ensuring that every senior experiences the care and engagement they deserve.
The event attracted several dignitaries, including Arcadia Mayor Katherine Lee, Monterey Park Mayor Vinh Ngo, California Assemblymember Mike Fong, and U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu, who lauded the initiative. Chu highlighted the challenge faced by over 12 million older Americans in accessing necessary daily care, emphasizing that Seen Health's PACE center represents a proactive response to address this societal issue. "The opening of Seen Health is a monumental leap forward for our community, ensuring that seniors have access to high-quality, culturally appropriate care services,” she remarked.
Since the beginning of this year, Seen Health has been successfully providing outstanding care services and integrating deeply within the San Gabriel Valley community. Participants can enjoy daily nutritious meals in collaboration with renowned local restaurants, door-to-door transportation services, and an array of enriching cultural activities such as art classes, mahjong games, and tai chi lessons. By blending healthcare and meaningful cultural experiences, Seen Health has fostered a vibrant community where every senior can find their rhythm and enjoyment.
"This is not just a new option for elderly care; Seen Health is setting a new benchmark for what senior care can achieve," co-founder Su Yang articulated. "For far too long, seniors have had to choose between fragmented, impersonal services and being forced into nursing homes, when they could truly be enjoying their later years at home. We offer a genuinely comprehensive and tailored alternative."
The opening of Seen Health is not just about establishing a senior care center; it represents a commitment to redefining a paradigm. It highlights that elder care is not merely about medical services but more holistic engagement that honors seniors' dignity, cultural belonging, and quality of life. Here, every senior can discover warmth and a sense of "home."
