Discover the SCEN Popup Event at WALL_alternative: A Unique Experience

The SCEN Popup at WALL_alternative

On February 6, 2026, the art space WALL_alternative in Nishi-Azabu will host the SCEN popup event, showcasing the innovative scents created by Olfactive Studio Ne under the direction of Kan Izumi. This collaboration stems from the established relationship between Olfactive Studio Ne and WALL_alternative, which have previously worked together to enhance the sensory experience of spaces, integrating scent with visual and auditory elements.

At this popup, attendees can delve into the fascinating process of distillation, a technique used by Olfactive Studio Ne to extract unique aromas from various plants and herbs found in Awaji Island. Guests will be treated to exclusive cocktails made with their original gin, dubbed "juniper berry," crafted through careful distillation processes. In addition to the drinks, visitors can purchase various products such as incense, perfumes, and room fragrances created by the studio, with Kan Izumi himself present at the event.

Simultaneously, the art space will feature a collaborative exhibition titled "THE WALL," showcasing works from the fashion brand CHNEIDER and sculptor Midori Takayama. This exhibition is part of the Ebisu Film Festival 2026 regional collaboration program, merging art, scent, and taste into a uniquely engaging experience.

About SCEN

SCEN is an alternative label created by Olfactive Studio Ne that bridges products, spaces, media, and art related to scents, emphasizing the relationship between people and fragrance. The inaugural product is a uniquely crafted gin, utilizing the distillation process to preserve the purity of singular botanical scents. The SCEN Essential Gin, featuring juniper berries as a key ingredient, utilizes rice shochu as a base, resulting in a smooth, aromatic spirit that enhances cocktails and culinary experiences without overpowering them.

The term "SCEN," derived from the word "scent," represents a new connection formed between fragrance and individuals. SCEN aims to develop accessible products like gin and flavored teas, while also engaging in research projects related to aroma, extending its influence across multiple domains of olfactory exploration.

Each step of the SCEN experience is designed around three core concepts:泉 (泉, spring),線 (line), and 巛 (stream), each representing essential materials, the flow of sensory connections, and the cultural evolution of experiences, respectively.

About Olfactive Studio Ne

Olfactive Studio Ne is dedicated to designing fragrances that feel inherently present. It approaches scent as a way to convey the origin of the subject and carefully selects materials through in-depth research. The studio’s name, "Ne," is derived from the French word for perfumer, Nez, symbolizing a commitment to transcending traditional fragrance boundaries and creating scents that resonate in everyday life. More about the studio can be found at Olfactive Studio Ne.

Concurrent Exhibition: THE WALL

The exhibition features unique clothing crafted mainly from linen by the fashion brand CHNEIDER and sculptures by Midori Takayama, emphasizing the tactile relationship with wood. Inspired by these artworks, aroma perfumer Sumire Miyazaki will create scent installations that embody the artistic expressions presented. Additionally, handcrafted jewelry designed by CHNEIDER will be showcased and available for purchase.

WALL_alternative aims to be a vibrant hub connecting art, music, and culture in Nishi-Azabu, promoting a unique fusion of experiences, promoting interaction and creativity.
