On October 24, 2025, the Jewish National Fund-USA kicked off its Global Conference for Israel with a powerful call for radical hope. This significant event welcomed over 2,700 Zionists from 20 different countries to Hollywood, Florida, marking a monumental gathering focused on resilience and unity among Jewish communities worldwide.
The opening session, known as The Magic of Jewish National Fund-USA's Circle of Impact, began with heartfelt greetings from Israel's President, Isaac Herzog, who expressed his support and solidarity with the attendees. Following his address, an invigorating blast of the shofar resonated through the hall, symbolizing a call to action.
Among the key speakers was Deb Lust Zaluda, President of Jewish National Fund-USA, who reflected on the ongoing rebuilding efforts of a nation that continues to face tremendous challenges. She stated, “Finally, there are no living hostages in Gaza. A healing process is beginning. Yet even in anguish, we build for tomorrow's generation. It is who we are as a people.” This poignant remark set a hopeful tone for the discussions and presentations that followed.
The conference showcased the organization’s commitment to societal growth, with stories highlighting the impact of their various initiatives. The “Circle of Impact” illustrates the far-reaching benefits of the Jewish National Fund-USA's contributions, including job creation and economic development through investments in housing, medical facilities, resilience centers, and education.
Bob Lembke, the National Chair of the Global Conference for Israel, elaborated on how he was inspired to join the Jewish National Fund after reading about the historical injustices faced by the Jewish people. He shared, “I chose this organization because they get things done. They use our gifts with care and efficiency.” Lembke emphasized that the Fund is dedicated to creating a brighter future through radical hope, emphasizing the importance of their initiatives.
Speakers from various regions of Israel shared their powerful stories of renewal and recovery. Noa Zer, an Israeli pioneer, highlighted the organization’s efforts in advancing agricultural innovation and establishing vital medical centers in her community in southern Israel. Ula Zusman, a child therapist and conference co-chair, spoke movingly about the life-changing work done by Resilience Centers which aid those healing from trauma.
One of the most emotional moments of the conference came when Omer Shem Tov, a recently freed hostage, took the stage alongside his parents. Omer expressed profound gratitude, stating, “Because my life—my presence on this stage—is thanks to you. I cannot repay your kindness and commitment, but I can pay it forward.” His heartfelt declaration resonated with the audience, highlighting the event's theme of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
As the opening session concluded, Jewish National Fund-USA CEO, Russell F. Robinson, shared exciting updates regarding the planned $350 million development of a 16-acre World Zionist Village in Be'er Sheva. He passionately declared, “Zionism is not something to remember — it is something to live. Israel makes the world a better place, and Jewish National Fund-USA is building that future.”
The ceremony concluded on a unifying note, as attendees joined in singing Ha'Tikvah and The Star-Spangled Banner, symbolizing a collective pride and shared mission.
