atNorth Expands Data Center Infrastructure in Stockholm

atNorth, a leading provider of high-density colocation and custom-built data centers in the Nordic region, has announced plans to establish a new data center in Stockholm, Sweden. This facility, aptly named SWE02, will add 30 megawatts (MW) to the company's already impressive portfolio, bringing the total number of data centers in the Nordics to eleven.

SWE02 will be strategically located near atNorth's initial state-of-the-art Swedish facility, SWE01, which began operations in March 2022. This new data center will incorporate advanced heat reuse technology, allowing excess heat generated to be recuperated and utilized within the surrounding community in partnership with Stockholm Exergi. This initiative not only helps in managing energy expenditure but also aligns perfectly with the goals of a sustainable future.

They’ve also established a heat reuse agreement with Denmark's prominent waste-to-energy company, Vesforbrænding, aiming to leverage excess heat from its existing DEN01 data center.
