David Neal Takes the Helm at Georgia-Pacific
Georgia-Pacific has made headlines with the appointment of David Neal as the new Executive Vice President of Building Products, effective from March 2025. Currently serving as the president of gypsum, Neal’s new role places him at the forefront of one of the world’s leading manufacturers in the building products sector.
This transition comes as Andy Konieczka, the previous EVP of Building Products, prepares to retire after a notable tenure with Georgia-Pacific and its parent company, Koch, Inc. Konieczka's retirement marks the end of an era, and the company looks forward to the fresh perspective and vision that Neal brings.

His journey began in 1997 when he joined Georgia-Pacific as a quality resource manager, progressing through many roles in the gypsum division. His experience includes serving as a plant manager and regional operations leader, culminating in his current presidential post in the gypsum sector.
Neal's notable accomplishments include overseeing a significant $300 million expansion in Sweetwater, Texas, which propelled the gypsum business to record profits in 2024. His impressive track record and leadership skills make him a fitting choice for his new responsibility.
In addition to his professional capabilities, Neal is deeply engaged in his community. He participates in various initiatives in metro Atlanta, including being a member of Leadership Atlanta and contributing to the External Advisory Board for the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech. Furthermore, Neal serves on the board of directors for the High Museum of Art and is a regular volunteer for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, showcasing his commitment to social responsibility.
