A Proven Track Record



Before her role at GlycoEra, Matthews was the Chief Business Officer at Astria Therapeutics, where she spearheaded corporate strategy, business development, investor relations, and patient advocacy. Notably, during her tenure, she played a key role in executing Astria’s notable $920 million acquisition by BioCryst Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this, she held senior roles at Catabasis Pharmaceuticals and Selventa, contributing to significant capital raises exceeding $700 million, including an IPO, mergers, and licensing deals throughout her over 20-year career in the biotechnology sector.

Andrea Matthews holds an MBA from the prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management and a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University.
