Gaylor Electric Achieves National Recognition at ABC Convention for Safety and Project Excellence

Gaylor Electric Dominates ABC Convention

In a significant achievement, Gaylor Electric showcased its prowess at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Convention held in Salt Lake City. The event highlighted Gaylor’s commitment to high standards in safety and craftsmanship, culminating in several national honors that solidified their industry leadership.

Celebrating Safety Excellence

At the forefront of these accolades was Jennifer Ferdinand-Stong, the corporate safety manager at Gaylor Electric, who was honored as the inaugural 2026 Health and Safety Professional of the Year by ABC. This prestigious recognition marks her as the first professional in the United States to receive such an honor, reflecting her dedication to prioritizing human health and safety on job sites.

In the words of Thomas 'Murph' Murphy, Chair of the ABC National Board of Directors, “Jenny's daily actions center on total human health, exemplifying her resilience and unwavering commitment to safety.” Her influential approach integrates hazard recognition and establishes a culture of safety where every worker feels empowered to make safety a top priority.

Awards for Project Excellence

Gaylor Electric's excellence didn't stop at safety; their project execution also garnered significant accolades. The company won two highly coveted Excellence in Construction awards. Among these, they received the prestigious Eagle Award, which is the highest honor for their work on the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Additionally, they were recognized with a Pyramid Award for the HSV Concourse Renovation project at Huntsville International Airport.

CEO Chuck Goodrich expressed pride in these accomplishments, stating, “These recognitions reflect the caliber of our people. When our employees succeed, our company succeeds.” This acknowledgment speaks volumes about Gaylor Electric's focus on cultivating talent and providing employees with opportunities to excel.

Pinnacle of Safety Recognition

In a further testament to their commitment to safety, Gaylor Electric also earned a National Health and Safety Pinnacle Award, presented to only 59 contractors across the nation. This award signifies the company has achieved the highest standards within ABC's STEP Health and Safety Management System, demonstrating continued excellence in safety performance.

Celebrating Craftsmanship

The ABC Convention also featured the National Craft Championships, where Gaylor Electric was well-represented. Notably, journeyman Alan Rich was part of a four-man team that clinched the Gold Medal along with the Safety Award in the Team Commercial category.
